I didn't get it yet...I will let you know tomorrow if I have any issues though. However the sale in outlet ends today, so you can either wait, or get one of your own...

Outlet machines are fine. My only disappointment is that mine came with a few scratches even though it was advertised as certified refurbished. I would try and snag one with a Quad Core + Firepro M8900 + IPS. Mine was about 1670 including tax without a coupon.

I couldn't get one with the AMD and IPS. However I am pleased for what the specs are.

I found out the history on mine, and although brief, the motherboard and LCD were both replaced...twice. So I'm kind of worried at the moment.

How does one find out the history?

I just received an Outlet M6600 classified as new, but the fit and finish is poor; does not equal a low-priced retail model.

The spacing between panels is uneven. Large gaps are visible where the top cover wraps around the back corners. And what appears to be "tool marks" are visible along the bottom edge of the ExpressCard/SmartCard opening.

Either the assembly is substandard (Mexico, according to a label on the bottom panel), or the machine has been repaired haphazardly.

Either way, the quality does not reflect the price :(

:hi2: I am new to the group...Just got the M6600 yesterday.

In checking it out, I found a problem with the usb ports. Once a device is plugged into the usb port, it cannot be safely removed. There is no balloon message after ejecting it saying it is safe to remove the device.

Dell TS said I have to reinstall the operating system and drivers.

Before I even think about that, thought I would check with this group to see if there might be an easier way to fix that issue.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You could always try to reinstall the chipset drivers with the -overall command if you have the problem with USB2.0 ports, if it's the USB 3.0 ports, try re-installing the Renesas drivers.

Here are the chipset drivesr: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...hipset+Software+Installation+Utility&lang=eng.

To use the -overall command, you can do it through the command prompt. Browse to the folder where the infinst_autol.exe file is and then type infinst_autol.exe -overall or you could create a shortcut to the file and add the -overall command in the shortcut path.

to be correct i was thinking about intel faulty chipsets with was relesed year ago.
4 disks working like a charm but 1 has strange problem:
    1) i put info and disconnect
    2) conecting back and it says "format the hard drive"
    3) put this hdd in main pc and start wd utility with says" a lot of bad blocks and test cant be completed"
    4) using utility i formating with zeros . run same test and no dead blocks:(
