Please read carefully threads about M6700. I saw there info from Dell_representative that new dock is compatible with M6600.

Sometimes this works, but if the owner's thread is over 50 pages, the information can get lost so it's normal to expect questions to pop up multiple times. Good thing you inlcuded the answer to the question though.

...and even docked to last year's PR02X, the onboard USB 3.0 ports are still active and accessable on the M6600.

Can anyone confirm if Intel SRT (smart response technology) works on the M6600. I've seen several comments mentioning it in passing but no definitive postings?
If it does I assume the SATA mode should be set to RAID, and the latest Intel rapid storage driver suite should be used?
Can anyone confirm SRT success on their M6600?
If it does work, can you use a full size 2.5" SSD in the secondary HDD bay or is it limited to an SSD in the MSATA slot?

I can answer some questions about SRT but I don't know it if works on the M6600.

    • You can use any SSD attached to the Intel SATA controller (either primary slot, the optical drive slot, the mSATA slot, probably even eSATA though that's a bad idea)
    • You will be limited to using 64 GB of your SSD as cache. (Leftover space can be partitioned as a regular drive, though.)
    • SATA mode must be set to RAID and Intel Rapid Storage drivers must be installed
    • I'm pretty sure I saw posts indicating that it was not supported on the M4600, so I imagine that the M6600 is the same. However, it works on the M6700. I don't have an M6600 to check with.
This is an easy check for anyone with a M6600 and the disk controller set to RAID mode. Just open the Intel Rapid Storage utility and see if there is an "accelerate" button at the top. (You might need more than one disk installed to see it...)

Side note, I've found SRT to be a little finicky. It works fine, but if you have it set to "Maximized" mode, be sure to completely disable it before updating the BIOS or Intel Rapid Storage drivers (and then re-enable it after the update). And be darn sure not to remove your SSD without disabling it first, too.

How do I keep a USB port charging a device I have plugged into the E-Port Plus dock, when my M6600 goes into sleep mode when docked?
