That video proves my point how clunky it is. Tired arms and RSI is what you'll get out of that if you tried to use that for a full work day.

I think I would have loved it for surfing the web, though.

The monitor does not lay flat back or flip around to sit flush like a tablet. Your best bet is always to call anyway, you'll get a bigger discount.

    Dumb Q But

Does The Tablet Not Have A Display So You Cant Draw Directly On The Image

    That Seems Strange

It Kinda Kills The Intuitive And Interactive Aspect Of The Touchscreen Because You Cant Actually Touch What Your Working On Or Am I Wrong About That

You are annoying the s*** out of me.

I prefer a two monitor Intuos setup. My friend who is a storyboard artist loves his Cintiq. They have a 12" ($1k) and a 21" ($2k). The Cintiq is it's own display. The Intuos you just draw on it and look at the screen. There is a learning curve, but it is cheaper and your hand isn't under what you're trying to draw -- they both have pro's and con's. A lot of people use both.

You use the Wacom pen just like a mouse. Click with pen = left click, and the buttons you can set to whatever you want. Most people with a brain set them to be middle and right click.

Yes, you can use them in a 3D package. I use it with Maya and Nuke everyday. Operating a 3D app w/o one feels very foreign to me. You're obviously very young... if you want to work in the business I would recommend getting a tablet to save your wrists from RSI. It's the best thing you could do for your body.

It is OK to consolidate ALL of your thoughts into one post.

    Thanks!

I think I will bite the bullet and look at quality 27 and 30 monitors. I would consider the Dell 30" Ultrasharp, but I understand it doesn't wake back up after sleep when connected through the Dell docking station. That is how I intended to use it. :(

Does anyone have the 1600 x 900 Screen on the M6600? I returned the M4600 I had for this one. I had the IPS and found it was far too small and too overly saturated. It did look good, but too hard to read even at 125%.

Also the video card, Quadro 4000M in my case, will push the lower res faster than the higher. I do 3D mainly, but also game.

I am just wondering the quality and clarity of the 1600 x 900.

I also realize the FHD would be slightly easier to read on the 17" thank on the 15".

I accidentally posted this in the M4600 section earlier. Supposed to be here.

    Thanks

I also have a quick question, I have already ordered my m6600 (see below) yet I am unsure if I should keep it. I am a grad student and will mainly use the system for school work. I will also be using the unreal and unity engines, some programming, music, games and movies in my spare time. I wanted something that would last 3-5 years and would look presentable in the clinic/class.

On a sidenote, is there anything I should change or do once I receive the system or before it arrives (different options or add-ons)?

I would like to replace the gpu in the future after the warranty expires and would like to know if it would be viable. Either with a current gen or future generation gpu if possible.

I appreciate any help that anyone provides! :)

...and (I knew I forgot something) ...I spoke with Dell on the issue of the backlit keyboard not showing up during purchase, if anyone fell into this dilemma you should call you rep within the 30 day period and they should send you the part for no extra charge.
