sorry to hear that i know exactly how it feels I get stuck pixels on most of my screens now and to get a good one you have to make Dell replace it at least 3 times but at least they take care quick and that is what matters :)

Well I am currently going back to my old M6600 and I am going to return the replacement. Even if case escalates, I am either entitled to another unit via Customer Relations or have them still fix my old one. The current replacement has too many flaws that the tech might prefer just fixing the old one's problem.

Also, didn't I mention that the M8900 in my old one overclocks better than the new one??? :p

Yesterday (finally) DeLL swapped my Chi Mei with a nice LG Philips LP173WF1.

PRO: overall the colors look A LOT better, the dithering effect is more masquerated, the white looks white, there is no more this dirty-pixel-feeling and overall il feels like owning a new computer (I didn't use it much with the Chi Mei...), also it may finally be compared to XPS 15 L501x (even if that panel still seems superior).

CONS:The viewing angle seems diminished (but I can live with that!).

I publicly thank the DeLL Support for its commitment on supporting its customers. Especially the Angel ones.

...Now Friday night pizza and a new computer to tamper with for the weekend.

P.S.:I still didn't experience any flashing effects and/or stuck pixels as per previous posts (although I barely used it). Will keep an eye open.

you did right sometimes the replacements are worst than the original system and is good idea to make them fix your current system so the case gets bigger at the end you may get a machine with XX60XM CPU and IPS Panel for all your trouble ;)

I give up on the overclocking because the GPU doesn't run to could to begin with I have a 6990m flashed to firepro what I find interesting is undervolting actually my card is @715-900 1V and I plan to undervolt the idle volts to at least .775v or .800v to reduce idle temps and improve battery life  :D

    Hi guys,

I have my M6000 now too.

    Two questions:

    1) I'm using an SSD(Crucial M4 128GB, newest firmware) in combination with an Samsung 1000GB HDD. The SSD is in the first bay (side of the notebook) an the HDD in the second bay (middle front of notebook). The Bios (A06) shows just the HDD but now the SSD. However the SSD nevertheless works fine so far. Why can't I see the SSD in the Bios?

    2) Is it possible to use an external display (1920x1200), connected by HDMI, as the only display without the Quadro 3000M enabled? Seems as if it's not possible. GPU-Activity with Optimus enabled shows the HDMI-symbol.

By the way, got the LG Display, which is really great.

Yes I hope Dell works on this in general to reduce idle temps and improve battery life.

Anyone noticed that A06 BIOS when running external display only it looks like internal screen still gets some power?
Screen is dark blue when it used to be black/off.

    Am I missing something here

I have noticed multiple posts on m6400 or m6500 replacements from dell

Does dell have some discount replacement policy for old gen machines

If so does this only apply for the precision series or not
