Having a pretty big issue I can't figure out. My wireless NIC is not working. Tried every driver on the site, but something else is going on.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks. That is somewhat reassuring.

On a seperate note, is there any feedback on owner's experience with the additional software that comes pre-installed?

This is my first experience with Windows 7 - been on XP all this while until the Vista era expired and faded - and have switched to 64 bit OS.

I was wondering if there is a thread/walkthrough giving guidance on how to set-up an M6600 after receiving, specifically relating to which utilities are worth keeping, and what order to install them for optimal performance.

Hi and welcome to the club!

I got Chimei'd too on September, when I bought my M6600 from the US and moved it to Italy.

Have you bought it from Japan or from the US, then moved it to Japan?

If the latter is true, you'll have to transfer the warranty from the US to Japan, then you'll need to deal with the chimei communication mess (apparently not many people know about it).
I hope they can help you have it changed, since I still have it...

    Hi guys,
I bought my 6600M from Yahoo Auctions, kind of Japan`s Ebay.
The guy received the laptop in Sep 20th. The laptop is from Dell Japan.
Warranty transfer and Owner transfer takes about a week so I think I will wait until it completes to contact Dell Japan. Dont know how I should tell them, is there any official words from Dell about this matter?

    My config is
    Windows 7 Professional 64bit 日本語版
      Core i7-2820QM
    16GB (4x4GB) 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
     750GB SATA HDD (7200回転) ×2基(計1.5TB)
    NVIDIA Quadro 4000M 2GB GDDR5
17.3インチFHD(1,920 x 1,080) Digital High-end Display Wide View, Anti Glare, LED back line, Premium Panel Guaranty

Aha, they are saying Premium Panel guaranty in Japanese too, so could I use this to complain?

Hmmm... I wonder what the holdup is. Maybe they are having issues sourcing the panel. HP has had a 17" RGB IPS panel from LG for months. The M6600 and the 8760W are the only laptops that will likely ever use these panels. Makes me wonder if HP is buying up all the panels leaving no stock for Dell.

HP also is adding the refreshed sandy bridge processors (the only one currently available is the i7-2860) to their elitebook mobile workstations.

My little Dell buddy from India remote'd into my box and fixed it for me. Not sure why it stopped working, I think it might have been some C++ libraries pooching the drivers. I kept getting errors when I tried to re-install them.

I never use this trackpad. Is there anyway to increase the resolution between each tick? I really like how my Macbook works, but this one has always seemed clunky. Half of the time when I'm gesture scrolling it selects all my text, also.

There has to be some registry hacks or something.
