I would like to see the measurements of all of the panels before declaring one the "best". If they all cover the 72% sRGB gamut, then it becomes personal preference.

The v.4 (92%CG) is the glossy and the v.5 (72%CG) is the matte<<-- stock in my M6600. Beware of the above and other companies selling you what they advertise is a genuine AUO panel and you end up receiving a "compatible" screen, which could be an LG or CMO. Look at the text closely and if it says "101% [OEM] compatible" or similar, do not buy it as you will receive something different.

I suggest requiring the seller to send you a digital photo of the label on the panel being sent to you. Make a note of the serial number to confirm once received. That is the only real way to confirm prior to receipt. Also, Grade A+ AUO panels are more in the US$160~US$190 range from North America. US$130 is rather low and raises another red flag.

Pricing FOB China/Taiwan for the better panels like the AUO is around US$95 + shipping. A genuine AUO panel will also have "AUO" stamped on the bottom left side of the metal display panel frame as you look it. That should give you a good idea of what to look for.

What is the exact model and revision number of the E-series dock you have? Some guys in the E6520 threads were discussing an issue close to yours and it ended up being the newer rev.03 docks were not fully compatible on the external video side. You need an older rev.01.

I have an A03 E Dock. Mine works fine with Displayport and DVI-D. I guess I can test the VGA out.

Are the multiple display ports working OK at the same time?

With my dock, I'm able to drive 4 displays at the same time:

    - the internal laptop's LCD
    - the VGA monitor
    - 2 DVI monitors

So it works as expected; the problem is VGA malfunction / interference at certain temperature range. It starts some 15 mins after turning on the display, and goes away after the next 15-20 minutes.

I didn't know that the 92% only came in the glossy variety! Now that dashed my hopes and dreams on that idea.

My *guess* is that the extended gamut comes from the bg+r backlghting. How brave are you with swapping a backlight?
