I am starting to look real hard at a HP Elitebook 8760 from CC. I don't have time or the money to play tag with Dell trying to get what should be a "premium" display for a "premium" computer.

If they want to play games with their customer base, fine, but not with my money they won't. :-(

Is the LG display as extremely rough (it is like looking through sandpaper) as the Chi Mei was?

There were many points to criticize.
One was the bluish style but that didn´t irritate me as much as the rough appearance, the bad brightness and the extremely poor and stable viewing angle. The more I think about it, the more I start to regret the purchase.

No, its not like looking through sandpaper. At least not for me. But it is still nearly as blueish...

I had no problem with the Chi Mei brightness, and the LG is bright too.

I use it a few days and I will see how it goes. Maybe I'm only getting used too led backlighting.

So overall I would say the LG is a bit better.

I sure hope he was wrong... Dell tends to launch new additions on Sun/Mon or Thursday not Wednesday. Other sales reps have said the end of September. Dell Mano G if you feel like clarifying it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I assumed he was from the US. If he is from the US then that means Nov, 9th. If he is European then hooray! September 11th is perfect.

Yes, I hope it's September, not November.
