Thanks. I assume this is not the case with Vista Ultimate 64-bit?

Man Im so tired of waiting. Ive been waiting for the HP 8730w to come out but its still not available in a configurable version nor with the quad core or best screen, or best grafix card. I cant get any good answer from HP as to WHEN these things will change. Now this orange m6400 looks good but who knows when it will come out with the options. Im SO tired of waiting, but I cant spend 4000 dollar on something thats not EXACTLY what I want.

    SO tired of waiting.

Why is there NEVER announced release dates?

The options out with the current M6400 isn't enough for you ? Or does it HAVE to be orange?

Well, I literally today just started looking at this computer. I didnt know it was out and had only seen that little vague promo vid Dell had released a while back. I really would like that e-e screen and want an LED screen.

I was really set on the HP 8730w till today after days of waiting seeing the main options that laptop was advertised on, still not available. I really need a laptop today, but really have a hard time spending so much on something thats not exactly what I want that I will be using every day for the next 4 to 5 years. I discovered today this m6400 is available and its the same size as the HP 8730w (a selling point for me). But then discovered that once again, the LED screen isnt yet available. Everything I really want always just seems "days away" and it gets very frustrating -ha ha

I understand...If I had your kind of money to spend on a laptop, I would want the best of the best as well.

I wonder what kind of scores the FX 3700 gets in 3DMark06 O_O...considering my FX 770M alone gets ~6000...

ha ha who said I had the money? I have a decent job and credit, but even with both, 4000 dollars is a ton of money for me. Thats why I dont want to compromise. I want to know all the options, and then select the best option for me. Its a race right now. My laptop is dying. If it really dies, Ill have to buy. If it holds out, I can hold out.

You have to also understand, last August I bought an Alienware and had a hell of a time with them, went through 3 laptops with problems till I gave up on them - which was this past February. I waited till their new 17" came out (which took forever) and then decided it was too big and not what I wanted (partly cause I lost faith in AW). Chaz here turned me on to the HP8710w and it looked perfect, but the 8730w was supposedly right around the corner and had features I wanted. Now its out but major options (or even choosing options) - is not an option yet. Which brings me to today - frustrated. ha ha

The Dell seems pretty similar (size, features) and has the light up keyboard - which I REALLY want. Im gonna try to hold out the next month and see who comes out with what. Im not interested in the Levono. Its gonna be this Dell or the HP 8730w.
