Hello :) And Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! 2017!!! I demand anti-gravity cars!

Here is BEST way to control power CPU speed and Fan speed on Dell Precision Laptops.

Remove/Uninstall: "Dell Command | Power Manager" or any other.
Replace with: "Dell Feature Enhancement Pack Application"
Install/update: "Dell Precision OptimiZer" (read what it does and or if your application included)

This will install Power Profiles (including Low latency Audio/Video)
Optimizer will have option to update Profiles and turn them on

no other utility will be as effective.

when switching profiles under load of your application, You can Bring up Task Manager, and that way you will be able to witness the clock changes and real world effect on Heat, Noise, Power consumption, and rendering speeds.

    My final thoughts/suggestions.
if you have used Optimiser, and one of its profiles. I would recommend sticking to what Optimiser Chose for that profile. (usually "High Performance" try not to switch) if you do however switch on the Fly, it may get funny with data integrity in some apps (3D)

    Use better power supply 200w+

I've noticed Samsung binned RAM and VRAM (gpu) are more stable. Dell Techs confirmed that this is the case but not all units got that by default. they accepted my proof.
I think they mean well its just hard to "bake" EXACT same "bread" for all.

run SFC /Scannow form time to time :) windowZe

enhancement pack also allows you to control time your keyboard is lit, to do that go into Control panel and search for (Dell Keyboard Backlight)

    Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of getting an used ws laptop. Dell M4800 vs Lenovo W540, all are FHD displays, which one is better (in terms of color gamut and accuracy)? Which one is more durable?

There's a new BIOS version (A18) with an "urgent" update requirement.

Considering it was posted and then pulled and then posted again, I'm giving it a week or two to make sure they're confident in it before updating.

I dont know anything about the Lenovo machines, however I think you would be very happy with the M4800. Ive had mine for two weeks now (bought used on eBay) and I am very happy with it. The screen in mine is only basic HD (1366*768) however even for that it is very clear, sharp and the colors are excellent.
