Installed A10 on a QHD+. It doesn't add Optimus to the bios screens and Intel® HD Graphics 4600 doesn't show up in the Device Mgr. BTW, compared to the ac adapters for the M6400 and Lenovo W530, the M4800 180W adapter is smaller!

Indeed - I'm still enjoying the reduced size and weight of the 180W adaptor compared with the one from my previous Lenovo W520. I have to carry my machine and PSU at all times (plus mouse, etc) and it is heavy - but it's not billed as small or light!

I lifted my M4800 up today, and it again showed me an orange flashing battery light. Since I knew replacing the adaptor worked last time, I wobbled it around a bit. And by "a bit" I mean a great deal. I suspect that my power jack is already suffering from wear. I use it on a Logitech laptop stand, and the force of it's own power cord is apparently enough to break the connector. Which is odd, since my 500 dollar HP laptop worked just fine on the same dock with the power cord hanging from it for 5+ years. A bit of a shame really. I've mailed Dell about this. Let's see what they say.

This is what it looks like BTW (doesn't seem like much but apparently enough to upset my battery indicator light)

I do sometimes. The battery (9-cell in my case) lasts long enough for regular days. I only take it with me if I'm doing 3D modelling or if I suspect I'll be going longer than the battery ;)

I rarely carry around the adapter, since I have one at work and at home. When I travel, the home one (the 180W rather than the 240W which came with the dock, and is even larger) comes with me. I actually weight my work bag when I got to work this morning (one of my desks is next to a packing and shipping desk, so there's a digital scale), and it came it at 11 lbs without the power adapter, just the M4800 and whatever else I regularly carry.

As far as your power connector problem, mine has roughly the same amount of play with no issues, but I will definitely keep an eye on it. Thanks for the heads up.

I have same luft as you on it so did my think pads didn't break any. youd need an unusual force to make it break.

Yep. While the video looks quite awful at first sight, mine, too, has about the same amount of play.
That doesn’t mean there is no wear in your jack, tdw_. But there shouldn’t be any in mine, yet it shows similar play. I move my machine only seldom (and when I do, I don’t carry the PSU with me), and there’s no weight or any other substantial forces regularly affecting the cable or its jack.
Maybe you should watch your battery and its contacts, too.
A few months ago, a guy on this forum had a serious problem that his machine would suddenly lose all power when he moved it. You might go through his posts for any clues.

BTW, as for BIOS A10 and sleep, it has already happened to me twice since flashing it that I would press the sleep combo but the computer would immediately wake up again. It would sleep on a repeated attempt, then.
If you’re prone to closing the lid immediately afterwards and not paying much attention, then better do.

I tried to reproduce this but probably missed a step. If you want to list the problem steps, I'll try again. Btw, whoever said 32gb ram can be 1866 and not just 1600, thx for that tip that'll I try sometime.

Neither can I reproduce it at will. I have no idea what may have triggered it; and it hasn’t happened since.
