Well, if you still have your invoice, you should have a list of the included parts, look for the heatsink and it's wattage, that will at least give you an idea. If I had a M4700, I'd tear it down and look, but I don't own one unfortunately.

Yeah I have the invoice and it says 45w heatsink. Curious if the XM users have a 55W heatsink. Would love to get the P/N and purchase it.

If it says 45W, then there is definitely a 55W HS out there, we'll need a xm CPU owner to get the psrt # or you can call Dell, the parts guy pulled the part # for me the first time I called and I cross referenced it with the part # Bokeh provided for the M6700. That is something that is great about Dell business support, people genuinely try to help you.

@ dave, same call Dell, my experience with them has been very good so far. On the other hand, any 1080p panel will work, just be careful with the LVDS cable connector position, you may need a cable extender under some circumstances.

I tried a LTN156HT01 Samsung panel from a Lattitude but it did not work, it lights up but no video

So am am thinking it needs the Video cable for the FHD display.

Depending on the resolution you have, yes, you will need a new LVDS cable, the motherboard supports it, but if you have a cable for 1366x768, most of the time, you need to get a new cable. 1600x900 to 1920x1080 should be fine without changing the cable if I recall correctly.

Hi folks, since a week i got the laptop connected to a 24" Dell monitor through displayport.

And i got 2 or 3 BSOD or aleatory reboots everyday.

Any idea about how to fix it?

    Regards

You cna download whocrashed and take a look at the crash dump, it may tell you what is causing the BSOD, if it's a driver, update it.
