I've got the glossy WUXGA screen and despite sitting directly under a skylight haven't found any problems with glare. I think the RGB LED backlighting is strong enough that you don't have to worry too much.

Hi All! Let mi ask also here a question, how anyway is it possible to distinguish the RGB LED display at M4400. I can not compare to any other device, either it is just not written anywhere. I would be happier to see it written somewhere at some configuration, but unfortunately it is not. (i have also added this question at this topic> http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=292245&page=165 )
Suggested rapid lowering of brightness to see how colours adopt didn't render much to me... May by I did it not fast enough? :-/

Did You finally agree, what aspect has the True-Life Wuxga Rgb Led Screen? Can it be possible that although it is so called "glare", but it wears a chemical coating (in stead of rough a matte film) similar to what Sony Vaio screen have, that actually makes the screen appear a bit matte? Is that what Intoxicate was saying?
OR is it by default a clear glass, with its 100% glare, that reflects everything thats around? (like may be in many toshibas and others laptops).
    I will appreciate Your observations!

ps.: Intoxicate, You did a great job with those photo-comparisons of various screens, that also had helped me to opt for RGB LED:) Many thanks!
Now I am just not sure whereas the display i have received is what I have ordered.

15.4" WUXGA TrueLife RGB LED display (1920x1200) is not available on the M4400 when you check customization options even though in the specs list, it is? What gives?

Is there anything other than Sony and Dell that offer the LED RGB screen? Dell's contradictory websites are really annoying. I like the Sony Z series but Sony doesn't offer anything other than their wifi 5100 card and I wanted 5300.

Edit: Oh, I think it's just Dell Canada that DOESN'T offer that screen on their M4400s. 'Figures...

If it doesn't show the RGB LED online that doesn't mean it's not available. Give them a call to order and you will get it

The M4400's RGB-LED has a normal glossy surface.
The M6400's RGB-LED is either available in matte or glossy (E2E glassplate).

I always wonder why Dell's website is so incredibly bad. I just checked www.dell.de again, I still can't configure an M4400 with RGBLED there. So, when ordering at Dell you better use your telephone. I had no problems getting an RGBLED screen when I called them back in last December.

It's not matte, but it's hard to see that it's glossy. It's the best of both :)
