kxp, Apple can't do quality products... well they sometimes fix the problem, but it's very hard for them to admit a problem in the first place.

I know I am going to sound like I am this anti-Apple guy who might have never touch an Apple product and be totally flames on... Don't get me wrong, Apple has great idea... but always get issues, that is like if they missed tested their product.

    Here is a small list:
    - Mac Book Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo) can get super hot, to a point of almost cooking an egg.

    - Apple Magsafe plug, can melt at the cable near the connector.

    - The new iMac with yellow screen. Apple was trying their based to hide the issue, from paying people a percentage of the computer to shut-up, to directly say a big lie, that this is a normal characteristic of an LCD.

    - iPod nano scratching issue.

    - iPod Touch crack screen issue when put in pocket.

    - Swollen battery problem, which can deform the laptop.

    - iPod headphones breaks very easily, and poor sound quality in comparatively to other headphone priced similarly.

    - iPad wireless network card puts too much stress on a router, causing wireless connection problem to others.

    - MacPro's reduces performance by 20% (that is a lot), when you play music on the system.

    and the list goes on...

I am not lying or exaggerating, just look at any tech news site, even Apple biases one's, and you can read all of these stories.

Like I said, Apple has great ideas and concepts (well most of the time) that sometimes can change the market completely, but they don't seam to perform good testing before mass producing a product to fix them before hand.

go for the 620m; you wont notice a drop compared to the 720 in most configs and have a much higher battery life (620 is 32nm vs 45nm; less cores and ower voltage)

Got the same issue with my order an a e6410. My initial order stuck in pre-production for about a week, then it was cancelled. Simultaneously i got a new order number with a new edd. Called my salesman at dell and asked for an explanation, he said that they are short on i3 and i5 processors, so they have to wait for the next shipment from intel. I dont know why they cancelled your or my order and set up a new one, seems to be an internal thing.
Dell underestimated the demand after new pcs/laptops with an arrandale chip. I've heard/read that people in Germany,Italy and Austria are having the same issue with cancelled and resetted orders.

Call dell and ask for some information when you're too concerned.

ok just called them back this morning...
The guy told me each time an order stuck in pre-prod stage is 'coz of a missing component . They wait one week and then cancel the order and recreate a new one.
Normally this should not affect the initial EDD because the new order number is flagged as a prioritary one.
Hope god is listen to him...
