The last time I looked, Dell UK Outlet specifically excluded entitlement to a free W7 upgrade. Perhaps the US is different.

From my understanding it's to allow remote control of the computer for IT, in a company. For instance they can launch an ghost image onto your system, ir remote desktop and some stuff like that. I never saw it, never used it. That is simply my understanding. I don't know if it affects performance and/or battery life, but it should not affect anything of the software is not there.

there isn't a calibration option. there are just settings. whoever said that didn't mean it as more than that.

[edit] wrong post - Now fixed[/edit]

Open the Control Panel, then open the mouse proprety, you will have infornt of you a panel that opens at the tab location "Dell touch pad'. Click on the image, and then Dell touchpad configuration of sort, will appear, where you can adjust it's settings.

I disabled the webcam (which I never use) in Device Manager and the problem went away. A driver update for the webcam caused the same problem about 6 months back so I tried that first. However, the applied updates did not include the webcam driver.

Just went and registered for the upgrade and everything went smoothly. When I put in the service tag off the laptop a message popped up saying it's eligible for a free upgrade. Nice! Completed the order process and got an order # and everything.

It came with XP installed, and both an XP Pro disc and a Vista Business disc. Looking forward to Win7.
