Some of the morons there (excuse the language) don't know their own policies for the company they work for.

If you're still having trouble, stop. Read this:

I already went through your process, so listen to what the thread says and you'll have that CD in 3-4 days.

Since they're both 13.3 inch. Wouldn't the LED for the Dell E4300 be the same as the XPS M1330.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the part sourcing departments at Dell.

this is really cool... i seem to be in a never-ending loop in startup, cannot get past the bios -- i just flashed and also tried to enable the TPM -- any suggestions?

edit -- contrary to the moron's suggestions at dell, removing the CMOS was enough to clear the bios, and got me out of the loop -- funny -- he wanted to replace my motherboard 2 days after it shipped. idiot.

if anyone is still looking at this thread -- can anyone that got an e6500 check whether they are able to press the left and up keys simultaneously and have both register? (either by trying it in a document with text or in a game like world of warcraft). Let me know, mine will not, and i have had both the motherboard and the keyboard replaced.

Cursor up and cursor left don't work simultaneously - now that screws up many games. Thankfully I'm among the ones who don't intend to game on that machine, but that's only because I changed my mind in the meantime.

An interesting question comes to my mind: Does anyone know if non-backlit keyboards are also affected?

that is a good question -- everyone needs to report this to dell in the hopes that they will either fix the hardware (if that is the cause), or issue a driver update to fix it (hopefully?!)
