Honestly, how do you guys get a detailed status? By calling them? I mean on the web all I got is "In production", nothing more.

In Canada we always get the short end of the stick. I was going crazy as well, but that's as specific as it gets.

What does Dell Latitude On entail? In terms of getting writing capabilities/web browsing, instead of just the reader? Do I have to pay extra?

after watching the introduction back in august, i thought that all models were going to have latitudeON capability -- but the websites now make it seem like it is just the 4x00 class -- can anyone with a 6x00 comment?

No advice for you. In theory, it looks quite a bit faster. I don't know how much real world difference it would make syncing your phone though. It may even include wireless USB too, but don't quote me on that. I'm facing the same decision right now. That and which graphics card.[IMG]

Did it give you an error that the UWB bluetooth wouldn't work with Vista?

Yeah. Though I had to choose the 32GB SSD to save on money. It will still be many times faster than the 4200RPM HDD I had in my previous ultraportable.

so i had to bigtime fight with dell to get them to send me a 64 bit version of ultimate, and not require that i send them back the 32 bit edition. i have a quick question -- looking at the palm rest, about 2 inches to the right of the touchpad there is an engraving that sorta looks like a wireless signal.... anyone have any idea what i am talking about or what it is? i will include a pic if no one knows what i mean.

That's the contact point for the contactless smart card reader (I know...sounds counter-intuitive...).
