Man, the new E-Latitudes look amazing. Especially the 12.1" and 13.3" models. I even like the 14.1" models. I wonder why there are 2 planned 14.1" models?

What do you mean two planned 14" models? One is regular, the other is the semi-rugged ATG.

Plus the cheap E5400 and E5500. Don't forget the Puma versions of those as well.

Thanks for the link. I must take a look.

    John

PS: The Setup and Quick Reference Guide makes a good read. For example, weights:

2.15 kg (4.75 lb) with UMA graphics, 6-cell battery, solid-state drive
1.95 kg (4.30 lb) with UMA graphics; 4-cell battery and Travel Module, solid-state drive

Since an HDD is about 0.03kg heavier than an SSD, that should be 2.18kg with integrated graphics, 6 cell battery and HDD.

A 9 cell battery will stick out at the back about 22mm.

PPS: And the whole base seems to be one unit. Remove a single screw and then it slides off. So ease of maintenance must be high in the design agenda.

Thank you mteddy for the link! :)

2.18kg should be UMA graphics, 6-cell battery, HDD and optical drive I guess? haha :p

Difference in between between 4-cell (0.24kg) and 6-cell (0.33kg) batteries is 0.09kg. :err:

So I guess UMA graphics, 6-cell battery, HDD and travel module should work out to 2.07kg? :)

Also noted that the E6400 doesn't seem to have LED backlighting as an option for the WXGA+ screens...
