all of the configuration pages have gone offline -- it looks like maybe they were just place holders and the true options will come tomorrow at launch (9AM PST).

edit -- electric tool is correct. didn't have to do it that way before, though.

They're still available, veritas72. Try this: go to Dell.com and navigate to the Small Business Laptops section. Then, with that tab open, come back to this thread and click the links that Chevy95ZR2 posted. Works for me. :p

that is so bizarre. i didnt have to do that last time at all. still -- something doesn't make sense since those specs do not add up to what the pdf spec sheet said.

You need to select the medium and large business sector to order Vista 64-bit with it.

i forget who was asking about hdmi, but these machines, if the PDF spec sheet is to be believed, have Display Port which can interface with existing HDMI connectors with a simple (and cheap) cable.

and on the video out note, WHY WHY WHY did dell decide not to include the s-video port?!. they had it in the dx00 line, the dx10 line, took it out for the dx20 line, only to put it back in to the dx30 line. why is it being removed again when it is so useful to connect to legacy devices? :(

That is incorrect, the DX30 line doesn't have S-video. They're barely any different from the DX20.

(At least that's the case with the D630/D620.)

Does anyone have some information, if the E4200 is compatible with the E-Port Plus?

The 830 does, ive used one. and here is the link. I (wrongfully) assumed it was across the full line. see link here :: http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/latit/en/spec_latit_d830_en.pdf
    ( S-Video, Serial, 1394, VGA, headphone/speaker out, 3 USB, powered USB (D/Bay), RJ11, RJ45, AC power, docking out, RJ-11, RJ-45, AC power ). And since the e6500 is replacing the 830....

It should be available on the docking station, so if that's a big deal, purchase a docking station with it.
