I would be most interested in the 12" but I really wish they would increase the resolution of the screen. How long have we been seeing WXGA now? Higher resolutions should be available for those whose eyes aren't bad. I hope they can at least offer the 1600x900 as Sony is doing since they cannot have an exclusive monopoly on the display itself.

Is there any kind of info on what kind of graphics will be available in the E6400/E6500? Or is it all kind of vague at this point ("256mb discrete...")?

Also I found this site saying the launch date is August 12th... Not sure how reliable it is. http://techtipsforparents.org/?p=190

I think it's pretty reliable because it confirms the rumor that was going around on dutch forums.

As for graphic cards, I can only guess the IGP part which will be X4500 most likely.

The internal documents showed the Dell E complimenting the Latitudes so I think they are clumping them together.

What kind of specs can we aspect in the e6500
I was waiting for the Dell xps 1340 or 1540 or 1640
But it the e6500 has a good gpu, led lighting (Which I think I read that it had), and 7200rpm hdd, I might get it...
So what's the chances of a geforce 8500gs at least?

the chances of getting a geforce are ~0%. The quadro NVS series is almost certain to be the gpu of choice since it is a business, not gaming, laptop.

if I order one of these on August 12th, how soon would it be in hand? Will there be delays like with the m1330?

Somewhere I read that they will be shipping in September (but not necessarily all models).

I would hope that Dell have learned from the M1330 fiasco and actually have some components in their hands when they make the launch (which is a couple of months later than suggested in March).

It will also depend on how many people jump in with their orders. I think the popularity of the M1330 took them by surprise. There should be less initial demand for the E series since business customers will probably hold back from placing big orders.
