What period is expected to change the line lattitude?
Are new models expected in 2017?

    Thanks!

I have seen no clues about when Dell will update the Latitudes to include these CPUs. History suggests it could be several months, particularly since the current range is well under a year old (the 7380 has only been released within the past few weeks). However, given that Coffee Lake is a stop-gap release pending the arrival of Cannonlake and Coffee Lake CPUs are Kaby Lake with a few tweaks and uses the same socket, I wouldn't discount the possibility of Dell just adding the new CPUs to the configuration options for the current models (which, as you note, already covers 2 CPU generations).

Does anyone have the 7480 with the i7-7660U CPU?

I'm curious if there is any noticeable difference in performance and battery life due to the Iris Plus 640 graphics?

Also curious to see if the new Latitudes come with Coffee Lake or Cannon Lake quadcores.

I'm just wondering if I can install a second SSD into the WWAN slot?

I bought 7480 recently. I have same question. Can we add second SSD on WWAN or WLAN slot? if possible, which one will work. Also, I have HD screen. Is it possible to replace that with FHD screen? I appreciate your help. I have to decide whether to keep the laptop or return it.

I just decided to buy a 7480 for my wife through the Dell Outlet. This model has the i7-7600U with TB3 and the QHD screen. I upgraded to SupportPro which appears to be the only way to get NBD support now. The config is a bit slim at 8G ram and 128G ssd, but unlike me my wife doesn't use a lot of disk space. I also ordered a used TB16 dock which is supposed to work with this laptop.

I'll report back on how this turns out.

Hi guys, what about coil whine problem from real users?

It seems that the models that mount SSD PCIe NVMe are not or less affected, while those with SATA interface are more susceptible to this problem.
    Is it possible?

Can you please tell me if you have or no coil whine and type of SSD and CPU?

If I order a model with SATA interface on this notebook, can I change the original SATA SSD with a PCIe NVMe unit? The connector is the same?

I have not noticed any coil whine, but I will let you know if/when I do.

I have the stock 128G SSD which I believe is an M.2 SATA

There is one M.2 slot that can run at 2-lane (2x) NVMe. There are some notes on doing this here:

    http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19992358

It looks like you might need a screw and a cover, but one or both might be present with your existing config...

    Latitude 7280 | 7480:

    Maximum internal dives supported: 1

    Drive configurations supported: (1x M.2)

    PCIE Lanes:

    M.2 slot supports 2X

Parts Needed in order to upgrade to M.2:

    1x R6TGF thermal cover

2x VJYP9 screw M2X3 ( most systems will have at least one of these already included )

Just thought I'd post that after about 7 months of light usage, the motherboard needed to be replaced because the sole USB-C port went bad. By light usage I mean about 3-days a week, plugging it into the WD15 dock in the morning and unplugging at night. Better keep those warranties active with this engineering masterpiece! /s

Thanks for reporting. That sucks to hear. The old dock/port are rock solid.
