Follow-up on that -- Was not possible due to the 6230 WWAN card (Novatel Expedite E362) using a PCI Express Mini Card and the 7480 using M.2 (Dell Wireless 5811E (DW5811e) a.k.a Sierra Wireless AirPrime EM7455 a.k.a Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A).

Has anyone ordered the 7480 with the WWAN card? Can I get a picture of the actual card? I just want to confirm part number.

DW5811e you can order it from dell directly. If you didn't order it with the laptop, the part will cost $200ish. Just get it on ebay.

I also have the problem with 7480 QHD with no WWan option. I don't know why they couldn't do it since the QHD display is marvelous.

The problem you will face if you DIY, you will need to get WWan antenna, micro sim card tray, wwan card (DW5811e). the current sim insert is blocked with a small plastic, you could probably puncture a small hole to be able to eject the card but without the tray, not sure the contact would be ok for the sim.

I ordered the laptop WWAN ready, it came with the the wires, sim slot, etc so just had to plug in the card. FYI, the P/N I used was 3P10Y and this is the driver I used.

I recall reading somewhere that the E7450 and the E7470 had the precision touchpad, could someone confirm. I never looked in to it, but that said, I suppose it doesn't matter for people not using Windows 10. (?)

I've just checked and my E7450 (dual pointing device keyboard) does not have the precision touchpad. It's possible, however, that the single pointing device keyboard version could be different.

Thanks for checking that. Irrespective of whether the E7450 has a precision touchpad or not, I believe it's a very very good touchpad.

Perfectly sized, not too small, not too big, great texture, and has the touchpad buttons.

Curious, what optional discrete GPU does this model offer? (I see a 90W power adapter included with some, I presume that's similar to past E7xxx series machines.)

You'll need to look at the 5480 for any dGPU options. The last 7 series to have a dGPU option was the E7450 after which Dell slimmed it down and the 5 series became the equivalent of the previous 7 series.

It's possible that the 90W PSU option is for extra fast charging but 65W is plenty and the 7480 should be comfortable with the old, but very compact, Latitude XT 45W PSU.

    Okay.

So, I presume nobody has reported any discrete GPUs showing up in their systems.

I'm just curious because I saw the 90W option, not really looking for a dGPU based 7480.

Another question, in the outlet, is there an easy way to tell which versions have thunderbolt 3?

Also, are there any advantages between 7600U and 6600U apart from the processor spec bumps?

    Thanks!
