Latitude 7450 Owners' Thread

Is there a setting on the latitude to allow it to turn on the computer automatically when the lid is opened? Is the setting in the bios?

do you know if there is a way to use a 4
4 finger gesture in widows 10 to swipe between different virtual desktops?

 

I guess Microsoft pushes vendors to have only standard-compliant gestures to be in place. Previously, Dell touchpad driver had more gestures, cannot say there was a total freedom, only a few options to choose from for a gesture, but then they cut down even this. So no swipes for 4-fingers. Somebody has to fix it, like "uber" for Logitech drivers in the past.

 

I hope 4 fingers gestures come....

Why when I charge or have the laptop connected to the power , gets hot in the bottom ?

I don't have the slim adapter, but the DELL adapter N6M8J

 

My E7450 touchpad control offers 4 finger gestures but the list does not include the option you want. It may be worthwhile doing some research to see if it is just a matter of adding an entry to a list somewhere.

Plugging in the mains power should not directly cause the computer to get hot on the bottom. The heat is caused by high CPU activity. What is the CPU load, what power profile are you using and what power management profile is selected (see Dell Command | Power Manager).

I also have another serious issue !
I've the full hd lg display.
I have serious blurring issues mainly to apps and some sites in internet.
I ve seen in Internet that this has to do with windows 10 scaling issues ..
I've seen some solutions proposed by installing a 3rd party exe file that makes dpi scaling of windows 8.1.

What have you done if you have the same problem .?
Any solution ?

You have to set screen scaling to 100%, by default Windows sets it to 125% for this resolution and, I guess, this screen size. Otherwise, you need to disable DPI scaling for each and every application (right click on the app icon) where you see this blurring.

 

It is 150% by default . It is 14" inches full hd the latitude 7450.
With 100% scaling everything will be to small ...

Any other suggestion ?

 

That's not a problem of your particular laptop, it is how Windows does scaling. To be more precise it's how applications take into account this setting and how they react to it. Unless they will be respecting the setting and do the scaling the right way, you'll keep seeing this blurriness.

The most disappointing thing is that Microsoft itself couldn't fix the scaling in its own apps. Device Manager, for example.

And an fix that we put in start up ,
