Ist there any recent info on the WWAN M.2 slot specifications? Namely bus speed and possible compatibility with future m.2 nvme drives?

Are there 2 SSD slots? On the outlet, some 7450 have 128 GB mSATA Caching Card, while others have 256 GB SATA Solid State Drive.

Does the "Caching Card" uses a different slot?

The discrete graphics version I have has an mSATA slot (can be reffered to as "caching card", since intel uses the term
for some of their older mSATA drives) for the primary drive and the wwan slot is pcie m.2.

The integrated graphics version has a 2.5" bay (for 5mm thin drives only, usually populated with an mSATA drive) and the pcie m.2.

Does anyone know the speed and pcie generation of the wwan pcie slot? I am thinking if it could accomodate a speedy 2242 PCIe m.2 ssd in the future.

    Hey guys,

I know the 1366x768 screen is a low quality tn screen but I can't find any e7450 reviews that go over this particular screen; they all have the 1080p ips. How is the brightness on the low end version and is the matte coating very thick? I had to return a dell ultra sharp monitor a few years back (it was the popular 16:10 1680:1050 ips screen) because the coating was just too much. I'm looking at used e5450 and figured dell uses the same 14" across a lot of their business laptops. Does anyone have any input on this?

    Thanks!

According to this Dell document the 1366 x 768 panel for the E7450 is 200 nit while the FHD panel is 300 nit. My experience is that 200 nit is barely adequate and would cause my eyes to hurt after a while. A few people have complained in this thread that the FHD panel is barely bright enough.

The E5450 specs here also say 200 nit so your supposition that it's the same panel is probably correct (subject to Dell usually using more than one source which can cause some variability).

Interesting. The manual for my dv5000t says my 1200x800 is 180 nits (200:1 contrast ratio) typical so the 1366x768 in this would be roughly the same. I do think it is still adequate even at 9 years old, but I can tell the screen is slightly dim if I come in to use my laptop after being outside in the bright sunlight and my eyes haven't adjusted yet or if it's adjacent to a brighter screen.

I see here that some of you are trying to add a 2nd SSD to the WWAN slot, and seems like the M.2 SATA SSD doesn't work and there is no PCEI 2242 SSD available.
Just curious, did anyone try to use the mSATA SSD on that WWAM slot?
Looks like people has successfully done that with the previous version E7240 (which should be the same as E7440 I suppose)
