No, all display outputs are wired to the HD 5500 as reported by Nvidia drivers (When using GeForce 840M, the signals are passed through the HD 5500) However the displayport output should do 2160p60 just fine, as the HD5500 graphics should be more than capable of driving it.

Just got a good deal on one from the Dell Outlet. I'm experiencing Intel video driver crash where the driver will recover itself. Looking in the event log shows no detail except the driver crashed. I'm using the latest available driver from Dell. Has anyone else experienced this?

Everyone, I just took the jump and ordered one myself. Went for the FHD of course with i7, no discrete graphics.
Apparently there are mainly two FHD screen producers for this model, either AUO or Sammy. Has anyone notice any major differences between the screens? Does anyone have a Samsung screen? If so, any issues (bleeding, dim brightness.

And something else which came into my mind, it's bizarre seems to have never been discussed on this thread: what about Wigig and wireless docking? Has anyone tried changing the WLAN card to get Wigig functionality?
Does that also mean wireless charging? :)
Still haven't figured out which dock to get. If no wigig then probably I should go for the e-port plus, huh?

I know, maaaany questions... But maybe I have you guys an idea for the next mod (seems you weren't quite succesful with the m.2 pcie 2242 mod). :)

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this thread. I read through it all before ordering and found better info than anywhere else online. I just ordered one of these, attracted by the size/weight, discrete graphics and the non-lenovo keyboard.

I am in Canada and could not find the discrete graphics option online, despite it being referred to on dell.ca. But I was able to order it through online chatting/emailing with a rep.

One cautionary note - the computer I configured did not have a backlit keyboard until I explicitly asked to have it added. Very weird as every option on dell.ca has a backlit keyboard. Their quote sheets are extremely confusing, and there seems to be no way to know what is included in the 'base' and what needs to be specified in the individual configuration.

Is there an updated battery slice for this machine? The one I used to use on my E6430 and E7440 doesn't work on this one. Battery light flashes orange and it says not supported in the BIOS. Doesn't do this on a colleagues E7440.

All mSATA SSDs conform to the same physical and interface standards unlike M.2. The variations are just with the capacity. 500GB is probably the optimum for most people although Samsung offer 1TB for those who want loads of space.

Get the 850 EVO which is newer and cheaper. Also, the 840 EVO is reported to have a bug which, over time, results in a slow down in the read speed of old files. Or you may want to consider the Crucial MX200 which is slightly cheaper than the Samsung but benchmarks suggest slightly slower performance in some tests. Samsung offer cloning software on their download site.
