I'm not able to find the 840M configurable on the E7450 - do you have to take an i7 to do so? But even then, in Germany you can't even choose the i7 at the moment ...

So I struck out with US webchat twice, even pushing pretty hard. However with phone, I was successful! I followed the prompts for small business sales of businesses with >50 and <5000 employees. (Which is indeed accurate).

Was able to do a complete custom order with 16gb, 1080p matte, i7, and discrete graphics. Will be here in two weeks

For those waiting for Apacer SSD that you believe it will work on E7450, I sent an email to Apacer asking for the release date. Here's what they replied.

had terrible light leaking on my matte lcd panel close to the right hinge. called in dell support for it to be replaced. when it was opened up, saw that a screw was missing. most probably a QC issue on the factory floor. received new panel a week later and the missing screw. light leak is still there but less than before. engineer who came to fix my laptop suspected that it could be bad batch of lcd panel or something's wrong with the display flex cable. so have ordered those parts for another attempt at replacing panel and flex cable to see if it will fix the issue. will post after getting it replaced
