We are hopeful that upcoming pcie 2242 ssd cards will work in that extra slot if wwan is not needed. It is unfortunate that the slot did not support mSATA as well.

I have the i5 non-discrete graphics version, would i be able to fit a 2,5" SSD like the samsung EVO 850? Next to the current 256 Msata i already have? That would be nice ;-).

"Next to" doesn't work, the available 2nd slot (WWAN) is m.2 PCIe, not mSATA.

Hello owners and experts! I want to get a dell Latitude 14" Ultrabook, but I have some specific requirements. I need ...

    1) two HDDs internal, (1) 1TB 2.5" SSD + (1) 256GB mSATA (or other card-type drive)
    2) an internal Verizon 4G WWAN card
Is it possible to get all this hardware working? Is the E7440 a better choice (vs the E7450) - given my requirements?

Neither the E7440 nor the E7450 will give you what you want. You can't have two storage drives and an internal WWAN card. The only way to get SSD performance and 1TB of storage is to put a 1TB SSD into the notebook.

    Hello here,

I would like to order the E7450 with discrete graphics from dell's shop but the option is not visible in the shop. I asked customer service using the online chat but they simply answered they do not know this option. The phone service seems to be limited to firms (if you answer you're a private, the automatic call box simply hang up the line)
Anbody can explain how he/she succeeded to obtain the discrete graphics version ? It's April now ... it is not obvious if that option is still available.

Per my prior post, I did answer the prompts as a more than 50 but less than 5000 person company and got a phone rep who was able to quote and ship me one. That happens to be accurate for my use case, but I suspect you could always go the 'Me, Inc.' route.

Thank you for your fast answer, neotechpc.
Did they ask you some corporate identification for VAT or other things ? I'm in Europe here and selling prices are usually differents for corporates and privates, since the taxes (VAT) are different.

I bought a 7450 about a month ago and did not select touch screen. MINE IS TOO DIM TOO.

All in all I'm not too pleased with the machine. 3 annoying things. 1) Display is so dim it is causing eye strain. I've NEVER had that problem before. The "G" key takes more pressure to connect than all the others. 3) Last thing. The cursor tends to skip around while I type, and I've suddenly got a word and a half in a paragraph where they don't belong. I know the work arounds, but come on, this is a brand new, top dollar machine.

update: had my screen replaced twice. once with just panel, second time was with panel and flex cable.light leak is a lot less than before but it's there.i've decided to live with it since it's only apparent on bootup.don't see it much after it powers on properly.
