That is really odd. I see no reason why Dell will try to lock out other systems from using the P5000M.

    FYI (concerning RAM):

I bought and installed 2 sets of Kingston HyperX Impact HX424S14IBK2/32 (2x16GB each). They pass MemTest86 7.2 on the 7720 and run with CL14 at 2400MHz (14-14-14-35).
Originally I wanted to install ECC-RAM (CL17) but right now these modules are not available here in Germany so I went for the fastest available SO-DIMMS (IMHO).

    Cheers,
    Alex

    PS: BIOS version 1.6.0

I have looked at the specifications and I can not understand why the new generation Dell Precision does not support for HDMI 2.0 and only 1.4. At the same time, the DisplayPort supports 1.4. For example, the situation with the generation of HP G4 is exactly the opposite. There there is a support HDMI 2.0 but the DisplayPort is remained 1.2 and HP could not explain to me why so

Notebookcheck said that for the 7710, the GPU throttles heavily if the CPU is at full load. Is this still true of the 7720?

I am a little skeptical about the GPU throttling in that review. When you fully load the CPU in Prime95, it can slow down Furmark since it is being starved for CPU cycles. When they took it down to 6 threads, the GPU went back to full speed. Maybe it was an AMD thing. I know I never saw it with the M5000M. I also don't see it on the 7720.

I figured it might be a testing methodology ( or AMD) thing as well, but I wanted to make sure. I tried running Prime95 and Furmark on my desktop (FX-8350 + R9 290) and saw similar results with GPU throttling.
    Thanks!

So I was looking at either buying the 7720 or the 7520. Got a few questions before I pick one. On the customize screen for the 7520 it said "The Radeon Pro WX Video Card is not compatible with the Touch LCD. Any idea why? Has anyone seen how the US 7720 4K IPS with narrow border performs? How does it compare to the 4K IGZO or the FHD IPS? What do people think is the better option between the Skylake Xeon E3-1545M and the Kaby Lake Xeon E3-1535M? The 1535M seems faster but the older 1545M has a better integrated graphics and is more expensive? How possible has it been to add a touch screeen to the 7510/7520 aftermarket?

There's only one 4K monitor for the 7720 even though there are two options to purchase on the web site. "Narrow border" means nothing. I wish they would fix that...
