3.5 hrs with heavy usage does not sound too bad, compared to my < 2 hrs.

How is your experience with your Samsung 960 2TB about speed and temperature.
Do you need/use a heat sink?
Did Dell deliver heat sinks and/or screws for empty m.2 slots?

Dell includes the heat sink and screws for both slots, whether or not you order the system with any M.2 drives. (You also get the 2.5" drive bracket, even if you do not order a 2.5" drive — This is true for the 7520 and 7720 but not the 5520.)

Mileage may vary - the only screws in my M.2 slots were the ones for the heat sinks. I had to supply my own for the M.2 drives.

I think, this depends on so many parameters, that this information is not very helpful.
I didn't configure my 7720 for low battery consumption if I use him offline.
This morning I did some online and office work and ca. 45 Minutes in Lightroom. I always use the GPU and the display brightness at 30%. After nearly 3 h I have 14% rest energy, starting at 100%.

The preceding comments are correct. It took me a few minutes to figure out how everything fit in, but the included Dell heat sinks are fine - literally the only part you need to supply is the NVME gumstick itself. The 960 2TB is very very very handy for loading/saving states on the VMs and keeping things going along at a rapid pace. I'm sure you know by now that Dell marks up the Tier 50 storage a lot, and also it's not a guaranteed Samsung drive, so of course it's aftermarket.

Anyone knows if the heatsink used for M1200 and P5000 is exactly 100% identical? tq.

According to Dell website the Precision 7520 has displayport 1.4? How does that work? The NVidea website indicates that the M2200 only supports DP 1.2 and most places I've read seem to indicate that the Kaby Lake processors only support DP 1.2 with their integrated graphics.

FYI: for those of you who have a "battery slice"(*) from older Precisions and hope to use with the 7720: it doesn't work. On boot time you get a warning about an incompatible battery and that's all. Bummer.

    Cheers,
    Alex

(*) a battery which comes under the notebook and is attached to the docking port

I dont think so: while negotiating with DELL about my replacement system I got several offers from them.

    From

    1 Nvidia Quadro M1200 w/4GB GDDR5 ()
1 Thermal pad Type-A for Nvidia Graphic Card ()

    to

1 Thermal pad Type-B for Nvidia Graphic Card ()
    1 Nvidia Quadro P4000 w/8GB GDDR5 ()
    and
1 Thermal pad Type-B for Nvidia Graphic Card ()
    1 Nvidia Quadro P5000 w/16GB GDDR5 ()

So IMHO there is a difference between the M1200 and P4000/P5000.

    Cheers,
    Alex

Confirmed from @Dell-Mano_G earlier in this thread, with an NVIDIA GPU, Pascal is required for DisplayPort 1.4 support. The 7520 gets DisplayPort 1.2 with the Quadro M1200 and M2200. (I've forgotten what the status is with an AMD GPU, maybe that's how you get DP 1.4 in the 7520.)
