Is the 7520 and 7720 the only models with E-port compatibility?

I really with the 5520 had an E-port... and a smartcard slot as well... and a number pad. What type of Precision workstation doesn't have at least two of those options? At least the 3520 has at least two.

The docking port connector on the bottom needs thickness, which the 5520 doesn't have, while a smartcard slot will encroach on battery size and capacity. The 5520 continues the trend towards Thunderbolt as the new docking connector. Maybe in a few years time we will agree that it was the right decision although, in my opinion, the technology is not yet mature (I find that plugging anything into the Thunderpolt port on my 5510 increases the power drain by about 3W and causes the fans to come on when otherwise idle) plus the peripherals are currently expensive.

I came to my Precision 5510 via the Latitude E5570 (physically the same as the Precision 3510). The latter got dumped because I couldn't get on with the offset keyboard. Note that options such as the smartcard reader also add weight.

In a few years time, maybe then I'll be ready to move on from my E-docks!

I'm still regularly using an E6320 and E5540; the former is without numpad, the latter has it. Personally never had issues shifting to the left on the E5540, but then again I probably do 90% of my typing while docked using a split natural keyboard. With the general loss of function buttons on laptops over time, it's nice to have keypad buttons available for double duty.

10-bit panel this is great news! Does anybody have information about this?

Maybe @Dell-Mano_G could kindly clarify some details about this?

In principle, it remains to wait for only pascal graphics for the series 7520 and for me personally, Dell Precision is an ideal laptops.

Highly unlikely that there will ever be Pascal cards offered in the 7520. Dell does not typically refresh the GPUs in the Precision after the initial launch.

Actually, I could be spreading misinformation here! After the briefest of research forays, I think it could be possible to have 100% color gamut with 8-bit displays. I'm honestly not sure.

A lot of good news, one bad:
On the German site (@Astaroth444 on the Swiss site too) you can choose the UHD display again
    Dell replaced my order
Thanks to Dell, that you cancel my first order
Thanks to @Michiko for the informations about nvme
I changed my configuration to class 50:)

    The bad:
Delivery date May, 2nd or earlier - to late to change my current project. But after a project is before the next project:)

New Sharp panel on the 7720 is measuring 388 nits - so almost twice as bright as the AUO. Whites look great out of the box. Color gamut fully covers AdobeRGB/NTSC. Deltas are extremely low, so it is accurate.

I will end up taking the brightness down for critical work, but it is great to have the option of going brighter if the room/outdoors demands it. The Sharp looks like a nice step up. I really like it.

Bokeh, do you know if the Sharp panel is 8 or 10 bit?
