Does anyone know what is going on in the UK with regard to the screen options? Every time I contact Dell I'm getting different answers, that are rather vague.

I am ready to buy a 7520 from Dell's UK site.

Anyone know if the 4k screen is same as the US model?

Also, does this palmrest option "Dual Point Palmrest with Full Security and Fingerprint reader "
include a smartcard reader? I don't use the fingerprint reader but any contactless or smartcard features are very useful.

Finally, this is costing me £3,650 with only basic disk and ram (I am buying separately)! I have not found any coupon codes which work, so if anyone knows of any or has any tips on how to get a discount, please do tell.

Dulapoint Palmrest options are listed as:
Palm Rest with Smart Card and without finger printer [subtract £62.30]
Dual Point Palmrest with Fingerprint and SmartCard reader [subtract £49.00]
Dual Point Palmrest with Full Security and Fingerprint reader [Included in Price]

Here are screen options showing now:
15.6" UltraSharp UHD IGZO (3840x2160) non Touch, with mic and camera
    [IMG]

    Hi all

I'm a proud owner of a M4800 and new to this forum.

Well, I've also ordered a 7720 with UHD option on the first day available in the webshop for CH. In the pro-production phase, the order was cancelled by Dell without providing any hints. Trying to restore the configuration in the webshop, I've noticed that the UHD option was gone. What a disappointment! Since then, I'm trying to contact Dell from time to time asking about the availability of this option but they always answer that they don't have any information. Meanwhile, this exact option is available in US stores... Therefore, I'm glad to have read the post from PrecisionFan regarding the Apr, 18th. Let's hope, that it won't take any longer than that.

    Regards, Patrick

    I 2nd the motion - clean up your space - that's the one I'm getting - someday - soon - I hope.

So you saved $154 with the E3-1505v6. Given the overall price, I convinced myself I should just spend the extra $154. But maybe the difference in performance is negligible and that $154 could go towards a 2nd NVMe SSD.

Well, between you two and my wife, that makes three votes! If I had an extra 800, I would have gotten the P5000 - Aaron on this board made a compelling argument that the money purchased a not-inconsiderable 40+% bump in performance over the P4000. But, since I already purchased a $1445 Samsung 2TB 960 Pro gumstick, I think I just stayed within budget. My unit should be shipping out some time today (crossing fingers), but I will get some performance tests lined up - maybe side by side with a few other older workstation laptops I have laying around so I'm not pushing out numbers in a vaccuum. I have an HP 14 G2 and an aircraft-carrier sized HP Elitebook 8770W that all have dedicated GPUs and might make an interesting set of comparisons.

Does anyone have news regarding ECC RAM support for the 5520?
Still not available on the site (Italian site), chat support told me that it usually happens when they're out of stock but I'm wondering if it's really a matter of stock or rather support (since it's available for the 7720).

ECC RAM is not supported in the 5510 (it actually will not boot with ECC RAM installed, even if you have a Xeon CPU). Wouldn't be surprised if the case is the same with the 5520. The chat reps often don't understand the finer details of the product.

I checked out the Dell configurator on the Italian site, and ECC is not available for the Precision 3520 either, yet it is available for both 3520 and 7720 here in the U.S. Perhaps Dell needs to use special Italian labeled RAM sticks that are in short supply?
