Yes the batteries are of a different size. The front left is a battery (smaller one) and the front right is a 2.5 sata. If you choose the larger battery, it takes up the front left and right as well as the slim bridge between them. Sort of like the batter in the alienware 17 r3. when ordering online, if you choose a 2.5 sata, and the larger battery it will pop up a warning saying that configuration is not possible. You can only use m.2 ssd with the use of the larger battery unfortunately.

I just tried different hard drive configs with the larger battery and it did not give an error. Looking at the manual, page 10, looks like they show the 91 Wh battery with what looks like the hard drive there.

With 5510 you have to sacrifice the 2.5" bay to use the larger battery.

I haven't heard anything about this happening with the 7510/7710. In previous generations (M4800/M6800 and earlier), the low capacity and high capacity batteries are the same physical size. (Haven't had a chance to inspect the new ones.)

I believe you guys, and just looked up the manual. But still, just went on Dell. Com and configured 17" and can't get 2.5 Sata and larger battery.
Also, yesterday noon ish thunderbolt was now an option, get home to order and it's not even mentioned until the end configuration info shows no thunderbolt.
Maybe it's just something funky with their site? I'll try perhaps with a different browser later on, idk.

Yea, I guess I wish things were more transparent. I'm personally deciding to take back my Alienware 17 R3, for a precision. Alienware does almost everything I'd need all features I'd want and $1800. Precision is $3400. And I don't even know what to believe it would have by following what the order configuration page says.

Thunderbolt is still not listed, but there are some additional processors now.

Dell rep got my order in yesterday with the Intel Core i7-6820HQ with Smart Card and Thunderbolt 3.

Looks like Dell added the Intel® Xeon® E3-1505M v5, which is 100MHz slower than the 1535 BUT is $230 cheaper!
Can anyone think of a reason to spend $230 for 100 MHz more?
