Well I've been waiting for 2 months now. Forking 4000+ for a laptop and not having type-c would make me mad.

Well, it's not like there's a plethora of killer peripherals now... except for the upcoming Thunderbolt dock.

I need to dock 3 FHD monitors and the only way to do that is with Dell's upcoming Thunderbolt dock. The USB-C dock only allows for 2 FHD monitors. Otherwise I have no real need for TB3.

I have been using the port replicator with two DVI and one VGA (all at 1680 x 1050) for years with an M6700. For now plan on doing the same with the 7710. Although, the new dock is seems nice.

It seems to be the case in the US all right, but not in EU countries (checked a couple). But this probably means that it will become available in Europe within days.

USB C is worth waiting for if you want to use next gen external module for graphics card. This can boost graphics performance significantly. CPU is powerfull enough to keep the machine at least 5 to 8 years.

The power of the CPU has not changed much. For example, I ordered a w530 with i7 3720QM 3 years ago and today with th I7 6820HQ its almost the same power.

Today, a lot of people ordering the precision with 7710 think there is performance issue with their xeon, but the truth is, the last gen extrem CPU are maybe already more powerfull than the Xeon they put in first gen 7710.

I have a quick question about the batteries, hopefully someone can answer.
    There's 2 types of batteries available for the 7710, a 6-cell 72Wh and a 6-cell 91Wh.
Does anyone know if they have the same size, or if the second battery is physically larger and ordering it will e.g. take away the SATA port or make the battery stick out or something?

    I have ordered a 7710

Concerning storage I am interested in performance.

I intend to use two M.2 in Raid 0.
Is the Samsung 950 Pro MZ-V5P512BW the best one?

Which one should I use as the 2.5 SATA SSD?

    Thanks.
