    Yes i did, edited.

But i want Optimus, its a neat feature on the go and extends battery life quite a bit

I did try several cards, but M6800 cards were capped architecture before 980M, will give few quadros a go on weekend and hope for the best.

Was hoping that someone here knows hardware ID of a Clevo or MSI or whatever notebook that had Optimus, 4th gen and 980M so i can shorten my search.

If you can follow the data in the INF around a little bit then you should be able to figure it out.
Look in an INF for GeForce 980M.

    > NVIDIA_DEV.13F8.06DA.1028 = "NVIDIA Quadro M5000M"

Follow the hardware ID string up to the part of the INF which assigns it to a section.

    > %NVIDIA_DEV.13F8.06DA.1028% = Section047, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13F8&SUBSYS_153F1028

Go look up that section (search for it enclosed in brackets like "[Section047]").
Right there are a list of configuration options.
If you see NvSupportMSHybrid = 1 in the list, then you have found the ID of a card that supports Optimus.

(You can't just add this line to any section and have it start working properly with Optimus. There are other options that matter and I don't know what they all are. But you should be able to change the corresponding device ID in the file to match yours and then have it work.)

Hi there. The Tesla M6 is still working strong on my M6800.
As Aaron stated ,no external video is possible, but for me was a great solution to expand the life of my machine.
Remember that you have to leave Optimus enabled on the Bios beforehand.

If you forget, best solution is to disconnect the little battery that feeds the system for a few seconds and the Bios will reset to default settings.

All this info is only valid for Win 8.1 x64 which is my main OS.I did not test any other settings,so I can not elaborate any further with other OS.

Keep in mind that for that to work you will need to mod the inf file on your Nvidia drivers. The drivers are a bit tricky to make them work. There is plenty of info on how to do it here on the forums.

That is all.If you need any further info please let me know.I will be more than happy to help.

    Cheers.

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13D8&SUBSYS_05CD1028 but everytime it load the graphic driver fine but then the manager says no compatible graphic graphic card so it wont run

Did you have to modify the inf for it to work? I'll download it and try it tomorrow I'm up and running but on 3.82 build which won't support the newer games (i.e. borderlands 3 which I was able to recover the save...)

I just modded the inf because I Have a Tesla M6.
Nevertheless,it won’t hurt to modify it anyway.

Is that a better card then the 980M? Are you running it in a M6800? Anything special that had be done or just plug and play with an inf mod?
