So I'm still completely being stonewalled. No part until the 20th, nothing else can be done, tough titties. God forbid this machine was to completely overheat as they couldn't fix it.

For those wondering what my temps are on my new rMBP 13".

Under a 4 threaded load "yes > /dev/null" , the CPU stays in turbo-boost @ 2.9Ghz and temps around 73C (with fans at 5K RPM). Temps do spike up to around 93C, but once the fan kicks in, the temps drop by at least 20C. Very acceptable, imo. I love this form factor too. This machine was a much cheaper than what I paid for my E6540, so I'll be taking the difference and buying a Nexus 5 :p win win for me

Isn't it kind of apples to oranges though? Comparing a lower class cpu/graphics combo and all

Sure, but now I don't how concerns about it throttling down to 800Mhz... Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the 15" size. I prefer 13". And after this fiasco, I just couldn't buy another dell.

Lower class and the low voltage parts too, with a lower TDP as a result.

Yeah, not a fair comparison... If I ever get a replacement, I'll try to test it out. Lookin like I'll be getting a xps 15 or a m3800. Not sure which, still waiting to hear back. I knew I shouldn't have let him off the phone once I finally got in touch with him :p

I can't even email back now - my emails are being rejected due to low "reputation score" on my hosting domain

What? What country are you in? Can't you just get like a Gmail account?

I've apparently still got an order for a heatsink to be shipped. Plus, @DellCares messaged me yesterday to say they would keep me updated on the status of said heatsink.

I was using my work email that the account was registered under. Their reputation system is pretty horrible as part is based on increase in email volume for the ip.

It seems the depot has the part, but the repair part doesn't. They won't send the part from the depot though. Talk about stupid!
