Just so you guys know, the only reason I'm waiting until tomorrow is that most of the managers at the level I'm going to be talking to get off at or before 5. This is what I've gathered from past experience. I'm not saying there won't be any managers, but I feel I'll have better luck if I wait until normal business hours since most of the people I'm talking to seem to be based out of the same state.

Have you tried emailing Michael Dell yet? I'm about to do the same, if 2 or more emails suddenly appear talking about the same issue and model it might just tip the balance in favour of getting something done.

FFS... I just got an email from my rep. who wants to dispatch another service call... This time he wants to replace the motherboard, heatsink/fan, and now the processor... You've got to be kidding me... Seriously, the nearest Unisys shop is located about 100 miles from me... Which means this poor tech is gonna drive back out yet again for nothing... I even told the tech before we started: "I'll eat my hat if this works"

I just authored and emailed a 1200 word email to Michael. Let's see what happens.

My guess - nothing. Class action would probably be the only way anyone is going to get attention.

I missed a phone call today from a customer support executive. I also got an email in reply to my inquiry to Michael. Trust me, these emails are read! She said she is taking over my case and will do everything she can to make things right! I'll be calling her after lunch.

which email address did you use?

I'm just about to make my first phone call. I'm going to try calling and see where that gets me, if no luck I'll fire an email off. Glad you seem to be getting somewhere!

edit: I just got an email saying that my request for repair service has been processed. This looks to be the order they originally put in for the heatsink to be sent to my house. It says it hasn't been shipped though and I'll receive another email when it ships.

edit2: talking with this new guy and my case was already escalated to someone pretty high up with their internal division (referring to the guy who I haven't been able to get a hold of). So he said there's not much that their branch can do, but he asked what I would like to do at this point and he would take that to his manager to see what they could do. I told them I'd like to get into another system or I could get my money back. The issue being that I'm not associated with the business account that it was originally purchased from. The warranty was transferred into my name, but when I first got on the call I noticed he mentioned that company name. Hopefully that won't be an issue.

edit3: Trying to get them to escalate this to the manager of the guy who's supposed to be helping me.

edit4: they noted that I wanted the case to be escalated to this guys manager, but from the way he was talking he wasn't sure it that would happen. They sent the current case manager an email requesting that he contact me, so I'm supposed to wait for him to contact me. They seem very reluctant to try to go over this guys head.

    I used [email protected].

I haven't yet had time to call back, but I have acknowledged via email that I received the call and would contact her as soon as I get an hour to do so.

quit your job so you can call her back.. my guy has two hours left in his shift. I really hope someone contacts me today.

edit: tried calling my case manager again, got voice mail again. How mad do you think he'd get if I called every 5 minutes until 4pm? :p
