My machine is working great now. Using a 750 gb Momentus XT and clone every few days to the media bay 750gb Scorpio Black drive for a back up.

Seriously? Have you owned one? It's nice and all, but there are a number of problems with it, besides having awful (as in difficult) support from Dell's website, and at least with my machine, some crazy latency times (std of around 1000 mu s, peaks of 20000 mu s). That, and the lack of msata and usb 3.0 support make what should be a perfect laptop well, slightly disappointing.

    Double post:

@truckingguy: Were you able to clone to the Momentus XT (it's a hybrid drive, right?), or did you do a fresh install?

to you and the OS, the XT works just like any normal HDD, the cache is handled at the controller level and it doesn't affect operations like cloning, you can clone to a Momentus XT just fine.

Im not, but my relative has. And none is without flaws. Have you seen 100% perfect lap? In generality you could say - "less pages less problems". And Dells support, how its related to lap quality? Same question about lack of msata and usb 3.0 support. You need usb 3.0 support? Buy E6530...

I have owned, tested, and/or evaluated the majority of the XPS, Latitude, and Precision series notebooks produced over the past few years and the E6520 is among the best systems of its product generation. Dual flush mount USB 3.0 can be achieved via an express card and additional storage/docking options are available. No system has everything all users desire, but for its specific purpose, the E6520 is a very powerful and reliable choice.

    Not in my choice .
    even one percent also.

    My system suffers from this.

    1) metal bracket holding the lcd in place is broken as in it sheared off.

    2) heating next to touchpad and its unbearable after 2-3 hrs of very light use.
    started after bios updates.

    3) poor LCD panel Samsung ty quality panel of 1600*900 panel which i absolutely hate.

    4) WWAN which fails to reconnect after sleep .

Support has been pathetic to say least.
my case is opened since last 10 days and still my laptop is in sheared up state.

I absolutely hate this so called Next business day support.
