Be careful because most of the ones on ebay won't work with the 6440 because they are too thick. 6440 is thinner than the 6420 and 6430.
This one looks like it's the right one and the price is good.

Mine was from Nimitz like the one on the next link. I know for sure it fits the 6440.

The one I bought from newmodeus for my M4800 works well for me.

Thanks a ton! I didn't even know that the parts were different for the E6420/E6430, and the E6440. I thought there was complete commonality. That would have been an unwelcome surprise!

I have issues with fan noise on my E6440 it's not too bad but I'd love to underclock or turn off the graphics chip which I don't use

    hi guys,

For the e6440, Is it possible to swap the HD display for a HD+ 1600 x 900 display? Is it plug and play or are there adapters / wires that also need to be changed?

    thanks guys.

It is possible but you need the right cable to go with it. HD+ and FHD use a different cable the HD panels.

    hi z31,

i read that going from HD to HD+ is a few new cables. However, going to FHD requires a new motherboard if your e6440 is a gen1 early version.

    Hi Guys,

Anyone ever try to use an mSata to Sata adapter for the 2.5" drive area? I ask because I have an extra mSata lying around that I would like to use in the e6440 and mSata has amazing low idle power consumption vs. regular 2.5" SSD sata drives. They also weight 0.018 lbs vs. 0.122 lbs for a regular 2.5" ssd Sata.

Here is a msata to sata adapter:
