Today, I placed an order for a Latitude E6440. I took advantage of the $100 Black Friday coupon.

I have not found any reviews for the E6440, but based on the positive reviews for the E6430, I expect this machine to be equally, if not more, satisfactory. I noticed that new Latitude has a few cosmetic changes (i.e. cover color and volume button placement) in addition to the new Haswell processors.

    Specs:
    Intel® Core™ i5-4300M Processor (2.7 GHz, 3M cache, Upgradable to Intel® vPro™ technology))
    Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit
    14.0 inch HD+(1600x900) Anti-Glare LED-backlit
    8GB2 DDR3L at 1600MHz
2.5 inch 500GB Solid State Hybrid Drive
    8X DVD+/-RW
    Intel® HD graphics 4600
3 Year Basic Hardware Service with 3 Year NBD Limited Onsite Service After Remote Diagnosis

Does anyone have one of these machines, yet? If so, please share your comments.

Does anyone have any idea if this machine can use an mSATA SSD in the mSATA location and a 9.5mm spinning drive in the normal HDD slot at the same time? I'd love to have an OS/Application SSD and a data drive still leaving the optical bay slot open for an optical or a battery.

I am waiting for my E6440 also.
    Latitude E6440 Core i5-4300U 2.6GHz,14" HD+ AG LED,Cam,8GB DDR3(2),500GB 5.4krpm,8Gb FlashCache,ATI.HD8690M 2Gb,DVDRW,WiFi,BT 4.0,WiDi,6C,2.1kg,3y,Win7Pro(64)

A question about the battery: is it the same, as in the E6x20 and E6x30 series? I really hope, that I can use my batteries with the new Latitude.

So far I saw the photos in the Internet they should be the same, but the seller (in Moscow, Russia) strangely said, that the batteries are different :(

And the HDD: 500GB 5.4krpm,8Gb FlashCache -- it`s a Seagate Laptop Thin SSHD, right?

Crucial's web site says the 6440 supports their M500 SSD. I ordered one today. I'll let you know!

Do you have the 6440 now?
What do you think of the display and the video card?

It's here, but I've not turned it on yet. Waiting on the M500 which will be here tomorrow. I also ordered one at work which probably won't be here until week after next. It has the HD screen where my personal one has the standard screen. I can let you know a lot more in a few weeks!

I want to update you all on the E6440 after receiving it and putting it to use:

I am satisfied with the appearance and build quality of the machine. I have had no problems at all. I like that Dell now has three brightness settings for the keyboard backlight and that the screen has different layers/frames now, so it does not appear as large as the one on the E6420 and E6430. For reference, I also have two E6410s in my household.
