    Hi folks,

Could anyone confirm that keyboards from E6420 are compatible with E6430? Yesterday I ordered laptop from outlet with UK non-backlighting keyboard, but I'm thinking of replacing it with US backlighting keyboard from E6420. Anyone knows if this is possible?

    Thanks!

Ordered from the outlet store, should have it by early next week.

I haven't been able to confirm in official sources whether the CPU in the E6430 is socketed or soldered. I was considering the Thinkpad T430s until I learned it has a soldered CPU, unlike its beefier version T430. Is the Latitude E6430/s the same: E6430 uses a socketed CPU and E6430s a soldered one?

(I asked on Dell chat, and the rep didn't know. Was directed to a different department, which was closed when I was transferred. Can't find this info in any official source.)

EDIT: Just got off the phone with Dell's Small Business department. Sales rep consulted with their tech department: E6430 has a socketed CPU. He was quick to add that damage from messing with the processor will void warranty.

Does anyone know what the Internal English Backlit Dual Pointing Keyboard for Windows® 8 is? What makes it Windows 8 specific?

Hi, I have a problem with my Thinkpad Bluetooth Mouse on E6430 (Win7-64 bit). The mouse pointer moves with a very long lag and responds slowly. I am using a Dell W2407 Monitor. The problem gets worse when I close the lid (using a docking station), or switch on wireless, or running 50% CPU. I've updated all drivers to the latest, including bios, chip, and bluetooth (Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States]). By the way, after installing the BROADCOM CORPORATION Wireless 380 Bluetooth Module, from the device manager I can see the driver version is 6.1.7600.16385, but the Driver Date is 21/06/2006.

Could anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if you got this sorted but I have got 16GB of RAM in my E6430 and no sleep problems.
If you have already done a clean install of windows then I would contact Dell as it could be a faulty motherboard.

Anyone have any idea what the model number of the HD+ (1600x900) screen is? I recently bought my e6430 and would like to upgrade to the high res screen. I looked on eBay and couldn't find any screens advertising they fit for the e6430 so I wanted to do a search for the actual part number of the screen (not the dell part number).

Also, anyone have any idea if the e6420 screens are compatible with the e6430? I know the e6420 LCD model number is LTN140KT04.

    Thanks in advance!

Here is the screen I'm trying to find the actual model number too:
    320-3063 14.0" HD+(1600x900) Anti-Glare LED-backlit with Premium Panel Guarantee, Dell Latitude E6430

I can't wait until someone figures out how to shoehorn a Retina display in this machine ;)
