I agree with you; the screen isn't that great. After about a month of having this laptop I haven't been able to fully adjust to the screen. I'm constantly tilting it to or away from me, as my eye level changes slightly.

    hum,
If a nice guy can download and launch astra32 http://www.astra32.com/files/astra32zip.zip to give me the screen reference, I will be able to read the datascheet and tell you whether there is a bad contrast feature on this screen.....

I have spent one hour searching a full datasheet without success.
It seems contrast can rise from 1:350 to 1:500 (according to the model)
So if your screen contrast is 1:350, it is a low level.
I have sent back an E6530 laptop because of the bad view angles. I was thinking to get a E6430 but according to your stories, it seems that the screen is not good too....

    Hello guys,

Could anyone having 3720QM version run OCCT CPU benchmark (with no GPU load combined) for ~30 minutes, to measure how good laptop cooling system is ?

Benchmark util is free and easy to use/install:
    Download

I`ve read the whole thread, but it is still not clear what to expect under _high_ CPU load.

    Thanks!

Did you try to set contrast through Intel Control Panel ?

Was anyone able to download the BIOS A6? I am only getting errors. The changelog indicates it has improvements for Windows8 which i am running.

Hey everyone, just got an E6430 (Core i7-3520M from the Dell Outlet) and was wondering if anyone is using the battery slice or the E-Modular battery. I currently have a 6-cell since that's what came with the laptop from the Outlet, but would like a few more hours using the machine on battery.

How big is the slice compared to the laptop? I can't seem to find a picture of one installed. I'm wondering if the size would be worth the extra 97Wh.

Also, if anyone has used the modular battery, are the gains good enough to warrant using it instead of something like a second hard drive?

Ideally, I want to be able to use my bay for a second hard drive, but I probably wouldn't mind swapping a battery in. (I'd mainly use the second drive for mass storage, possibly virtual machines since I'm using an 120GB SSD as my primary disk, and I'd most likely be on AC power for that.)

    Thanks guys!

    Hi folks,

Sorry for posting here. I though that I was posting on the "Latitude E-Series and UPEK Protector Suite " thread.

    With thanks,
