I also ran into the issue with not getting a WXGA+ screen on my outlet order. The CS rep tried telling me that the + means that it is an LED screen, not LCD. After educating her, she spoke to her manager about fixing the situation. They decided that I should have known that it wasn't a high res screen because the order confirmation said WX. I asked her how I would know that WX is the Dell abbreviation for WXGA and not WXGA+. She told me that the abbreviation for WXGA+ is WX+. After a much longer conversation with her manager I was to be hooked up with sales to get a similar deal to what I had gotten before. The sales person answered and somehow the CS manager forgot to relay information about my situation and I got a big nothing. Luckily I found the outlet biz coupon that Stefanie posted while I was on the phone. Ended up getting an I5-2530, 4GB, nvidia graphics, webcam, and 9 cell battery for $625. Can't complain about that.

My return shipping was also 42 lbs. Dell isn't paying for all that. Both Fedex and UPS bill account holders based on actual weight. They don't trust customer's scales. Funny thing about my return. I got two labels. One for the system order line and one for the "THANK YOU, DELL OUTLET" line. The system and the thank you are to be shipped to different locations. I have no plans to return the thank you. I hope this doesn't delay my refund.

I have an I7 refurb with a WXGA screen that's in a box ready to go back to Dell Monday. The only other upgrade is Win7 Pro and 2GB RAM. I paid $613.72. I doubt that ground shipping would be much over $15. Here's the system ID if you want to check it out 41430M1. Warranty shows 700 days, but the invoice shows a 3 year warranty. I'm sure Dell would fix this for you.

I changed my account so that I can get email from members. If you want this system, please email me before Monday.

EDIT: That's the service tag, not the system ID.

Yeah, I believe you are correct regarding the billing by scale. I also received the second shipping label, and was a bit confused, but when they picked up the package, they just made an exception to void the additional (and frivolous) label.

You got your laptop for $625? Is that out the door (including tax)? That's quite impressive. I paid $780 for a similar laptop, though with a 6 cell battery, backlit keyboard, and bluetooth after a 15% coupon and tax. Is this the same coupon you applied?

What is the tally at this point? I am too lazy to count the number of forum members that have experienced the same WXGA+ mishap, but oh my, how the number has quickly grown.

OldSkoolMadSkilz, I can't seem to PM or email you. That service tag you posted doesn't seem to be pulling up. Please confirm the Service Tag number, thanks.

That's pretax. If I hadn't gotten the on site and no fault warranty, it would have been $655 total damages.

I think mine was cheap because it came with Vista Home. I didn't even boot from the Dell HD. Popped in a 128GB SSD and loaded Win 7 Ultimate from my technet subscription.

That's it. I think Dell is doing something to the website because my system list is only coming up with one ID. Not sure why PM doesn't work. Is it turned on for this forum? Any mods to ask?

EDIT: Works now. Here's a link. Warranty is 3 years. For some reason, they entered it as a 1 year that ends next June and a 2 year that starts then.

I've got this messaging coming up on the Dell UK Outlet site:
Also, the Dell download site is not working for me at the moment.

    John

PS: I've just checked again and the site is still not functioning. However, I then noticed that the indicated date is 26th July.

So I've waited a couple of days to ask this in the event it was my internet or not. I tried downloading the drivers from Dell's website there, but the connection keeps timing out. I've tried downloading drivers through Dell's software, I've tried doing it via IE and Firefox. Nothing is connecting. I can access the page fine, but no files are actually downloading. The url looks like it tries to connect to an ftp.dell.com for the actual .exe or zip drivers.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue or is it just me?

EDIT: looks like John Ratsey is experiencing the same issue as me?
