    You're late to that party:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...92-latitude-e6220-ips-screen-replacement.html

Looking forward to the full writeup, I'm still trying to decide if it's worth it for me to invest in the eGPU route. I don't game that much, but it would be nice.

Its worth it, but wait for the PE4L 2.1. Theres too much stutter without PCIe 2.0.

Can anyone shed any light into what the 256GB SSD is like in this laptop?

Buying the screen from ebay is a bit of a gamble. You might get a "compatible" part even on listings that say IPS screen specifically. And then there are listings that don't list IPS specifically but then the part number matches perfectly. This is why I didn't put any links on my IPS screen thread - don't want to get blamed if someone received the wrong part.

When I searched for the part, laptopscreen.com was actually the first hit for only $69. I emailed and asked if it's the EXACT part I'll be getting, they told me no, just a "compatible" part.

Could you give us the part number for the one that you used? I'm so tempted to do this...

LP125WH2(SL)(B1). I don't know how many different IPS panels there are. I know for a fact LP125WH2(TL)(B1) is NOT an IPS panel, I found out the hard way.

There are a few of those on ebay, actually for a couple of different laptops as well. I'd probably only go with the model for the x220 since it's been done already, and at $133 it's incredibly tempting...I keep buying things I don't need, but I did just sell my E6410 for more than I bought my E6220 for...

This thread does not get enough love... bump :)

I think I'll be getting one myself soon. I would love to do the ips upgrade :)
