    2 Question

    1. Anyone have a guide or know how to upgrade the RAM on this laptop? I don't think it will be hard...but it would be nice to see some pics on which panel I have to unscrew. I need to buy a 2gb stick of RAM - suggestions from newegg?

    2. Any good cases/sleeves for this small laptop (with extended 6 cell battery)? suggestions?

To upgrade the ram, just unscrew the whole bottom panel, its only held in by one single screw in the middle. Hey Presto.

Its in Page 6 of the Service manual available from the Dell website.

I just received an E6220. It's built like a tank just like the 6420 (never mind my signature I haven't updated it a while ;)). Amazing deal from the outlet. The only messed up thing is that it uses a 7mm drive so I can't stuff my spare SSD in there  I actually tried, even without the drive bracket the bottom cover won't close without bulging. Will have to do a switch-a-roo with my 6420 which came with a Samsung 7mm SSD.

andye39s - also bought one form outlet store..still waiting on it. How do you feel about the size/thickness? I was thinking about getting the 13" e6320..or on of the other bigger models.

I really like the form factor as it takes up a lot less room on the desk. It is just a hair thicker with the screen closed than the E6420 with the screen *opened*. It is no Macbook air thin, but the extra thickness combined with the mag-alloy chassis really make it feel rock solid - I can grip it at the very edge of the corner with 2 fingers and there's no signs of chassis flex at all. Even though the MBA is very solid, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that to it because the front corner is so thin.

If you don't need the built-in optical drive definitely stay with the 6220 instead of the 6320.

The only slight build quality flaw is a bit of wobble on the battery. Nothing that can't be solved with some tape and paper.

I notice the wobble in the battery a bit, but otherwise, I am in love with this laptop.

The quality is absolutely top notch, far better than anything I've had before.

I'll be doing a full review soon, along with an eGPU, so stay tuned.

Just got my E6220 from the outlet today after Fedex farked up delivering yesterday. Initial impressions are very good, and I'm very impressed with how Dell is shipping their systems with nearly no software preinstalled these days. I'd anxious to hear the eGPU results, as I'd like to have a little more gaming power with this thing.
