Do you think I can use backlit keyboard for E6410 on this machine? The arrow keys look a bit different, but otherwise they appear similar...

Backlit keyboards don't require anything special, just replace the part and you are good to go.

No I was asking if the keyboard for E6410 will FIT into the E4310. But it looks like the arrow keys are all cramped up and the size might not fit.

No, the E6410 keyboard is completely different. For one thing, the volume buttons are on the keyboard.

So we all know that E4300 battery does NOT fit into the E4310, but it works the other way around. I found a single part number on Dell site, but I have hard time finding a battery on Ebay (New, OEM that is actually for E4310). I also found a part number that starts with "R" and have saved as potential candidates.

But what are confirmed part numbers that will work for E4310! This is really frustrating!

I'm pretty sure that none of the Exx10 Latitudes support mSATA in any of the mini PCIE slots. You probably have to use a 2.5" to mSATA adapter in the main bay if you want to use mSATA.

I just checked Dell driver site and this machine still gets bios updates. The latest is A14 from 2014. What can it be, why an old machine still get updates?

You can see the details of the update on the download page. Usually it's a firmware update for an embedded component (ie. Intel ME), but there are occasional bug fixes.

I actually worked with their engineering team to resolve a couple BIOS bugs, and they definately still take fixes for older business models (at least five years of support and parts are offered).

Hi, not sure where to post this so if it's its the wrong place could a mod please put it in the right one, thanks.

I have a Dell E4310 which has started doing the weirdest symptoms. It basically doesn't recognize my charger but yet at the same time it still does!!. The laptop won't turn on without the battery in, If i attempt to turn it on without a battery and just a cable in, after a few second will just power off again. As soon as I put a battery and cable in, it works and boots up. Problem with that is that it only recognizes the charger for a few seconds then the screen will dim as if running in battery alone. Now the next weird part is, although the Laptop doesn't recognize the charger with the little plug icon coming on, or even the blue light on the laptop itself not coming on, if you check battery status it says over 1000 hours usage and doesn't go down. But I'm not sure if ti is actually charging the battery. the BIOS doesn't recognize a charger plugged in at all yet when I plug it in or out, the screen flickers as it it normally used to when changing power source.

Has anyone got any ideas what this could be and what I can do to possibly fix this?
