Overclocking: There is a setPLL .LUT file for the E4310's SLG8SP585 PLL on acerfans.ru courtesty of Motovlad making PLL programming possible.

However, the problem is Dell have the SMBUS component of the PLL wired via the SMS MEC5045 controller, for which no datasheet appears available. Need the program the EC controller to show the PLL on the SMBUS before we can program it using setPLL or setFSB.

So then how does one go about extending the functionality of the E4310 in a cost effective manner? Read on..

    hey guys,

Need to reinstall everything from scratch on this machine for someone. What is the easiest way to install dell drivers and utilities? The website mentioned in nandos post has had all its media fire links cutt off. The dell website has a long list of driversbut I would really appreciate some shortcut or a simple guide. Windows 7 32 bit installed.

    much thanks in advance.

Do u know guys if the keyboard of e4300 is technically spill-proof ? specs don't seem to mention that and I am to recommend some used 12-13" to my friend for use in a bar.
for example x61s but damn thing doesn't have a touchpad :/

Nope...it doesn't have any holes for liquid to drain through the chassis.

Sorry for the double post, but maybe somebody who's subscribed to this thread will see this post earlier than a standalone one:

I have the latest bios and touchpad software.

The touchpad is responsive to one finger, whether it's on the main pad or the scrolling area. However, it's not responsive to two-finger scrolling. It works, but I have to apply pressure, and even then, it's not 100%. I have a E6410 without this problem. I've tried to fiddle with the software.

My question is: Is this a normal thing that can be fixed or is it a bad touchpad?

I never got the two-finger scolling working properly, so ended up disabling the feature. I believe it's down to poor drivers but it could also be a hardware limitation
