When i got my system they fitted a 1703.
    Explained that i should have had a 1704 but have a 1703.
I therefore asked for a 1901 card, which they agreed to send and its running sweet.
I also changed the thermal compound seeing as though i had to strip it to replace the card.
The system is sooo quiet now, its unreal.
I changed it for Prolimatech PK-1 Nano Thermal Compound :)

Can anyone shed some light on this.
Im finding my new 3560 with i7 3612qm noticeably slower than my previous 3500 with an i5 560m
It appears really sluggish and takes forever loading apps etc
    Really annoyed!!

Mine has an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Other than the issue I had at a co-workers house, I've had no other issues on other networks. No drops once connected. If Dell can provide it, I'd recommend trying it for anyone with Wifi issues.

I still haven't run into any unusually high fan noises while the system is idling. Fan noise is linear with CPU/GPU load for me. During normal daily use it stays fairly quite, sometimes speeding up when flash is running in a browser tab, or watching video. Portal 2 brought it up to full speed though.

For you guys with fan issues, are you monitoring CPU/GPU usage and temp? If you're not, Most Wanted Windows Desktop Gadgets - Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista are an excellent option, they sit on the desktop and provide realtime feedback without much overhead, and provide an alarm threshold, which has probably saved my processor a few times while playing games.

Not sure if this makes a big difference, but I do not have Windows 8, I run Windows 7. It's possible that with all of the syncing Windows 8 does, that it may be the causing load at Idle. If you are monitoring the CPU and Network, you should be able to identify when Windows is doing things, and then check task manager to identify the process. Perhaps there are things you can turn off so that the load is lessened.

Hi Everyone, I'm a fresh owner of a Vostro 3560 model type 8442 (3632Qm, 1Tb hdd, 32gb ssd mSata, 6Gb ram, etc), with Win7 Pro (as my choice)

I've upgraded the laptop with 16Gb HyperX 1600Mhz Cl9 LoVo, 256Gb Crucial M4 mSata drive, and a Samsung 840 Pro 256Gb as main drive. All works well and quite smooth.
The only problem is the fan speed. It randomly goes to top speed generating a lot of annoying noise. So I've partially resolved the problem installing Speedfan, but I'm not completely satisfied. Anyone else got problem with the system fan? Is there any other way to resolve?

    Thanks a lot.

Probably it's your hdd drive the problem. Are you sure it's a 7200rpm model? Maybe a fresh install with complete format can improve the situation..

Using it for about a month now. Worst experience so far.

    Its a new vostro 3560( Vostro 3560 Intel Core i7-3632QM 15.6 inch Wide Display FHD 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz (4GBx2) , 750GB 7200RPM SATA HDD Drive, 32GB mSATA
Windows 8). even without any activity and almost no activity the laptop is getting heated in the bottom center. On search i could find that center point has a hard disk. i installed CrystalDiskInfo 5.6.2 to check the temperature. the hdd temperature goes from 33 to 47 C without much activity. it is not possible to put the laptop on lap.

When informed DELL they ran a system check and say until diagnostic tool detects a error they cannot do anything.

I did a bootup up diagnosis and ran through full memory test which took me more than 2 hours. During the test laptop was VERY VERY hot with CPU temperatures reaching 67-70C and fan constantly running at full speed 4500 to 4600 rpm and emitting hot air and bottom part of laptop getting hot.

At the end it shows all test pass, but the laptop was fully HOT. When I opened windows and ran HDD temperature monitoring tools like CrystalDiskInfo, HWiNFO32 etc. I found it showing temperature of 53C. After keeping it on for 2 hours in an air conditioned room for 1 hour temperature claimed down to 49C. and was not going below than this.

Don't know why Hardware diagnosis dose not check for temperature thresholds.

I think something is wrong with the HDD or the system. Please advice me further course of action in this regards or should I initiate a return.

I've had a 3560 for close to a year (running Windows 7 Professional) and it has been a positive experience. What has been the most pleasant surprise is Dell's support. I've had a few software issues (more about that later) and each time I have spoken with knowledgeable support people who have followed up to see if the problems have been resolved. I am listed as a business, so that may have something to do with the level of support I'm receiving.

The only significant issue I've had is with the touch pad driver. It interprets widely-spaced and inadvertent touches as two-finger gestures. Dell even sent a technician to my house to replace the touch pad!!!, thinking that I had a hardware problem. The Dell support guy (in the Philippines) has been relentless in following up to see if the problem still exists. He even called me to say that he ran across a similar problem with another model system and to try turning off the Windows PC Tablet feature (which did help somewhat).

I have been blown away by the level of support I'm receiving on this laptop. In a perfect world they would have a direct pipeline to the Synaptics device driver developers, but that is not the case. The problem is really not a big issue, so I'll just wait to see if a newer driver is made available.

In your case I would definitely return the unit or try and speak to a Dell support supervisor and get a capable expert to review your findings.

    Hi all.

Anyone has the Dell Part No. of the FHD screen? Is it the B156HW01? I cannot find a part list anywhere on the net.

    Hello.

I've tried to remove the keyboard from my vostro 3560 several times following Dell's manual and also being quite familiar with Dell's latch system from previous and other systems I thought it would be a breeze, but this time it's proving a bit frustrating.

I don't want too pull to hard and end up with a broken keyboard and haven't found additional screws that seem to be holding it in place.

To be honest, the latches do not retract like other latches I've seen on XPS and Studios, so I am a bit puzzled here.

Any pointers? What am I missing?

    Thanks.
