One more questions...are there any setting where it lets you choose which graphics card you want to use (discrete or onboard)? For example, if i want to save battery, i can choose to turn off the discrete graphics and just use the onboard one and vice versa. Or if i want that specific application to use discrete graphics only (ie. games).

I am interested in getting one of these because of the FHD screen. Can anyone tell me the part number of the screen. Maybe we can check if the panel is used on other Dell's (like Latitude or Precision, or the new Inspiron 15R SE)?

The ATI Catalyst software has Switchable Graphics. You can configure it to run certain software with or without the ATI card. Although this has to be done for each application. I haven't seen a way to turn it on/off completely for the whole system unless going to power saver mode does it automatically ?

Couldn't see a part number on my order anywhere. Might be because it was a prebuilt system with 2 day delivery.

    Hi,

I am currently looking into buying a Vostro 3560 for my girlfriend. It seems that this is a nice little work machine. But I have one question which I could not find the answer. The current battery holds about 3 to 4 hours but will there be a more powerful battery, I know they will extend outwards but Dell did that quite often so it could be possible. It would be nice, my girlfriend like to have long battery.
Also I heard there is a mSata port available, is that true?

    Thanks.

    Jonas

No idea about the battery but yes it definitely has a mSATA port. I'm thinking about putting a 64GB Crucial M4 in there. Only drawback is that you have to take apart the laptop completely to get to it (it does have instructions how to do it in the manual)

The stock battery that comes with the laptop is a 6 cell, there is an option available when i bought it to upgrade to a 9 cell which would give you about 6-7 hours (according to the sales guy)...but i didnt opt for it so i cant tell you personally if it'll actually reach those stats.
