    Hi all,

I recently got hands to a M6700 without a MXM graphics card and a cheap GTX680M (4Gb) out of a Clevo. But I have issues getting the 680M to work at full potential.

I installed the latest Nvidia drivers (376.33) with a patched .inf. I can use the card, Optimus works. However, I only get a PCIe x16 1.1 connection, even when i do the 'Render Test' within GPU-z.
The card itself is capable of 3.0 and the mainbord (Intel QM77 chipset) can do 2.0.

I already installed the latest Dell BIOS (A16) and set all power modes to high performance (Windows 7 + Nvidia Control Panel). Temperature of the GPU never goes above 50°C.

Weardly 3Dmark shows a GPU memory clock of 175MHz while comparable systems are way above this value. As a result the points from the FireStrike test are very low (815 vs ~4k).

Any ideas how to fix this are highly appreciated!

EDIT: I have a 200W AC adapter. Is this enough or do I need a bigger one? (240W, 330W)

The other Specs of the M6700:
    Intel i7 3720QM @2.60GHz
    2x Hynix 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3 @800MHz
    256GB SSD (Crucial CT256MX100SSD1)

Guys, any owner of laptop with FirePro M6000, could you please tell me if you still have Frame Rate Limit in Crimson settings on the latest 16.12.1 or 16.12.2 drivers? Thank you!

I'm curious with the 1060 though. It's made with 16nm process better than 28nm of Pascal Only 970m's TDP but it's packed more than the power of the 980m.

Just wonder if anyone has a eDP m6700 tried a 1060 yet. I've heard that some m6700 has eDP display and/or LVDS

I'm very interested in this as well.
M6700 actually has both eDP and LVDS. Most displays use LVDS, but the IPS and 3D screens that were released use eDP. The GeForce 1060 may be usable in an Optimus configuration with an LVDS screen, as the eDP port is present on the board. (Someone would have to try it...)

I saw there's dude selling the 1060 mxm but it's MSI version. Did shoot him a question but he's not 100% sure. He did confirm his 970m and 980m works but if 1060 works that'll be really nice.

He did mention that 1060 only works with UEFI interface as it doesn't have the legacy bootloader no more. He did confirm that he tried and it worked on some laptops with edp port but apparently not m6700

I have a particular annoyance issue that whenever my screen refreshes under change background (slideshow) and the fan cycles on, my cursor freezes and the browser underneath pops to the front if I have multiple windows open. Of course, I could simply reduce the windows but it never did that until recently.
From what I here it can be the luck of the draw. Although backlight bleed is a product of IPS, some are better than others. I'd give mine a 90%.

Hello, is anyone with a M6700 using Intel's Rapid Storage Technology with Windows 10? Ever since I updated from Windows 7, I have been having issues under high disk load. I have two SSDs in a RAID 0 configuration and I start getting disk disconnect/reconnect events over and over until the load dies down or I reboot. I am using the latest driver from Dell 13.2.4.1000, but Intel says that the QM77 chipset does not have a Windows 10 supported driver. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue.
    Thanks,
    Peter

I have Intel Rapid Storage turned on and I'm currently using the latest driver from Intel, 15.2.2, without any issues. (I loaded it directly from Device Manager using the "F6 Floppy" driver download from Intel.)

I do not have my disks in a RAID array, however, I just turned Rapid Storage / RAID on because I was having AHCI issues after the release of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, and it has been stable since then so I'm keeping it for now.

Supposedly, Intel says the 15.x drivers don't support the chipset in the M6700, but you were able to install it OK? I may have to give it a try. Thanks!

Yes, in fact I didn't even realize that it was not supported until you mentioned it here. Again, I installed directly through Device Manager, it's possible that the actual installer would block you.
