So l have posted this also on the Dell Community board as well.

I updated my M6700 with the A16 BIOS and the Quadro K4000M card disappeared from Device Manager. Not listed under Display Adapters or any other heading. Nor is there any other unknown devices.

If l downgrade to the A15 BIOS, the Quadro card re-appears.

Anyone else have a similar issue or got any ideas?

    Optimus on, I assume?
What is the VBIOS version of your K4000M? (You can check with GPU-Z.) The latest version is 80.04.5A.00.02, but some K4000Ms shipped with an earlier version. Not sure if it would make any difference....

A while ago l did upgrade the vBIOS to 80.04.5A.00.02, and then afterwards l flashed A15 BIOS.
Yes, I did check the BIOS after l flashed to A16 and Optimus was enabled.

Thanks dude! I bought a DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 4k adapter, and now 1440p is recognized and working properly.
The adapter is a bit choosy on the HDMI cable. I have 2 HDMI cables capable of running 1440p with Latitude 3570, only 1 of these cables work with the adapter on M6700. The other one blank screen.

I can continue using my old KVM switch now :), bought 4 years ago spec written at max 1920x1200 but now proven to be able to work on 1440p.

My m6700 has teetering hinges. There is around an inch of play but otherwise is tight.
What would be the easiest way to access the hinge screws and not have detachable too many cables or removing components?

I have issues using the premier color app with my IPS display.
First off, setting to any of the Colour Gamut profile other than full results in the display being very black with no contrast and unusable.
I am no color expert I am not really fussed about this as long as the full profile looks fine.
However, when I open Microsoft word, the app automatically switches from full to srbg mode. It's only when I switch tabs to something else does it automatically switch back to full.
    What gives?
Should I use another calibration software?

I realize there is some backlight bleed on the top right corner on my premier color ips.
Is this normal and are there any IPS owners with a perfectly uniform backlight against a black background at full brightness in pitch dark?
Will changing the bezel cause it to go away?
Here is a photo I took?
    Is it acceptable?
Only the top right corner is noticeable when facing straight in the dark at 60% plus brightness.

My friend is trying to upgrade his m6700 laptop with much more gaming capacity.

His laptop has a i7-3540m CPU and and firepro m6000 GPU (he planned to throw in a quad-core version which should be fairly easy), but we're torn how much GPU power we could upgrade. He has a 240w PSU brick. We're located in Canada and so far we only found a GTX 880M which sells at a fairly reasonable price. http://m.ebay.ca/itm/Dell-Alienware...%3A557fd22b1590a357eba0414affc4cb5a%7Ciid%3A3

Information regarding 880m is scarce. But GPU Z revealed that 880m is literally a 780m with higher GPU clock and 8gb VRAM. We could've go to 780m as a safer option since there's information but it's even more expensive than 880m with lower specs. 980m obviously is so much better but it's quite expensive though ($800-1000). Do you guys think 880m instead of 780m would work?

I think it is likely that the 880M will work, we have confirmation of NVIDIA GPUs up to the 980M working. GeForce 1060 GPUs are starting to appear, both faster and cheaper than 980M, but they do not support LVDS so they will not work in the M6700.

You should be prepared to have to make manual changes to the driver INF file to get it to load. If you are replacing an AMD GPU, you will also need to source an NVIDIA GPU heatsink for the M6700, the part that touches the GPU core is different between AMD and NVIDIA GPUs and it is very important for that part to make good contact between the heatsink and the GPU.

Thanks but why we need to mod the inf driver?

We also have another candidate: GTX 970m, is it wiser to get it instead though it costs a bit more for the architecture upgrade over 880m?
