The hiss from the IPS display is starting to irritate me more and more. The fact the the hiss level doesn't go down even on power is even worse

    Just snagged an M6700.

I currently have 2 GPU spares, a K3000M and K4000M. Do you guys know how well video cards such as the R9 M290X can perform in games compared to the K4000. I am debating if I should sell both GPUs and get something more powerful, or just keep using the K4000M.
If I was going to get a new GPU my budget is about $450 CAD. Maybe upgrade to a K5000M?

Just wondering, is the 980M compatible with the PremierColor IPS display if you run in sRGB or do you have to get the M5000M? Is there a link to an inf file anywhere for the drivers?

Any AMD GPUs that anyone has tried? Maybe that RX 480 mobile version, the E9550 MXM would work?

He called me and told me that there are no spare parts available for my Covet display anymore. Neither the whole display unit nor the protection glass itself.
This leads to a system replacement by DELL. The service rep doubts that there are M6700 Covets in the shelf (but maybe regulars) but these are all refurbished units.

Now I decided to wait for the 7720 and negogiate with SALES till I get an 7720 as replacement. My M6700 is under warranty until November 2017 so there's still some time left to get the best solution for this...

    Cheers,
    Alex

    Hi,
I've been running my tree years old M6700 [AMD Fire Pro M600] with Win2012 Server with the standard ms display driver. One year before I needed the amd driver for a special monitor.
Sometimes I've got the message, that the driver stopped responding and couldn't recovered. Thats not a big issue on Server OS because the crash of grapic driver didn't crash the server OS.
Last week I installed Win10 1511 (drver came all from win update) and after some minutes watching videos or fotos the screen appears "Black", hdd led is flickering 20 seconds and then M6700 is rebooting.
    Driver 15.200.1045.0 from Windows Update
    System EventID: 4101 amdkmdap.

With Win10 1607 the same issue.
The ms display driver works fine without crash.

Are there other users with this issue?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards Thomas

I upgraded my videocard to a k4100m and have the ips panel it works for the most part but i'am having a few problems.
Non of the color settings in premiercolor work except full and even that has trouble with brightness sometimes.
Anybody know how I can fix my premiercolor setting.

This tool is straight from hell...
It often hangs and/or consumes one full core (+ lots of memory). Sometimes it won't let me change the display brightness.
And it doesn't work with all NVIDIA driver versions. Right now I'm using 369.26 on Windows 7.
So I had to try several driver versions till I found one working with PremierColor. But unfortunately there is no update for PremierColor that supports the M6700....

    Cheers,
    Alex

Have you guys run into this:

I recently upgraded my m6700 with 980m video card. When running gpu overclock with +100mv the AC adapter just shut itself off and laptop is running on battery afterwards. My AC adapter is a 240w GA240DE00 though. Is that possible that a overclocked 980m and my i7-3720qm CPU runs above 240w input wattage?!

Yeah the hp moblie display assistant on my old hp 8770w with dreamcolor was wayy better. They did upgrade the PremierColor just not for the m6700 what a shame.
The new PremierColor app looks jmuch better ust like the one my hp used to have.
Well I just ended up going back to my stock k5000m.
I was able to update my driver to latest from nvidia and have colors working but only after downloading the official dell first then updating.Otherwise none of the color profiles work.
Sad because I really liked the k4100m it was 15%-20% faster and 7 degrees cooler but ohh well.
Guess I'll just sell it on ebay.
